I got my dress in the mail 2-wks ago, but needed time to “think” about it because it’s a little different from what I expected. But after trying it on a 2nd time today, I can say I like it and I’m pleased with my decision.
$428 Total (that includes a veil with S/H) not bad at all!
It’s not perfect, but for the price I paid, it’ll do. Now I know that by saying that, it seems I’m not enthused – but I went into this with a budget and we’ll have a very small ceremony, so the dress I had in mind would only have to look good in pictures (because I will only wear it for a total amount of maybe 2-hrs and that includes travel time). I’m not at all sentimental when it comes to attire either, and I didn’t want to have to travel (I live in a small town in a foreign country) or spend extra for alternations. Buying online was really the best option for me.
Without further ado, here’s my dress

And here’s my veil (it totally matches the beading on the dress):

I’m gonna have to wait until the big day before taking pictures with it on. I can’t zip it all the way up and the only long mirror we have is near the front door and it’s a tight spot to be able to take a full-length picture.
The dress is actually made quite well. The lining is well made, there’s a built-in, thick strap to hold it in place (think strapless bra without the cups) so it won’t slip off. They also added a little inside hoop so I can bustle it.
The things I wasn’t completely happy about: the cut, it’s “hippy-er” (as in it accents more hip) than I expected, there’s 2 front beading designs/clusters that aren’t aligned, and the waist ribbon area is built-in.
I’m thinking about buying a seperate ribbon or belt to add on to it, and I can ignore the lopsided waist beading since pictures are rarely shot perfectly straight anyway (and my boquet will hide it). Yeh, I’m happy with it. Now I better take it down before Fi comes home!
Thanks ladies for your kind comments! You made me feel better *HUGS*

@OurWedding: I bought it from
Good Orient. Finding it was a fluke actually (although I know of the company because I’d ordered an Asian silk shirt from them years ago). I did a Google picture search for “lace wedding dress” and was directed to a dress on that site.

Here’s a close-up of the beading and the inside lining. Fi will be home in 20-mins, maybe I can try to figure out a way to take a pic with it tomorrow
Thanks Bees!
