I decided to take a risk and buy a wedding dress that I found for only $299 online. I’d tried on something similar, and even though its very early days yet, I thought it was worth a gamble.
The dress arrived today, so naturally I raced up stairs to try it on. Its a bit too big, but should be easy to alter – you can see how I have one hand behind my back pulling it into place! (and have added a sash in one of the pics in order to get an idea how it should fit) Its way too long too. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too difficult to alter.
The dress is a sample, but is in pretty good condition with only a few very very light make up stainscan barely see them), but no tears or anything else. Pleased to see its 100% silk too, although I was hoping for something a little bit lighter and more flowy.
So what do you think?

This is the dress on a much prettier model

It sure has paid off.
It looks even better on you than on the model. I love the black sash with it.

Wow, It takes a lot to carry a dress like that but it honestly looks like it was made for you!

Love it! So pretty and vintage. 🙂

Hopefully it’ll still work without me holding it in place at the back!
Any suggestions for hair and a veil? I love this veil, but I’m not sure it would work. Maybe an elbow length would be better.

I love it! Not something I would have ever thought I would like so it’s surprising that I like it! Looks much better on you than on the model!

@aliciaspinnet: Aw, why such negative poll results? You look lovely (and I’m really liking the blingy belt).
I say stick with the type of veil you posted. A longer one might make the dress look frumpy or boring (it sounds almost counterintuitive, but I think the more you cover/add things to the dress, the greater chance you have of detracting from the dress). Less seems to be more.
And your figure is absolutely wonderful, very feminine (with a tiny waist).

@aliciaspinnet: I love it! But I definitely prefer it without the black sash, I’m not a big ‘bling’ person, but I think it livens the dress up a bit. It also makes it more bridal in a really good way.

@MlleFabuleux: Just second guessing myself!
@BridieBea: Yeah I think it needs the bling, the black sash was just to hold it in place so I could imagine it when it fits properly.

I really like it!! I prefer the bling sash over the black sash, but think it could go a little higher up on your dress, as to emphasize your waistline. But after the alterations, I think it’ll definitely look good!
