- Wedding: May 2015 - The Patrick Henry Ballroom
Well, I’m absolutely stoked (I’m a 90s kid) because my wedding dress came in! I know I’ve tried on the sample dress, but words cannot describe how it felt to actually put on MY dress…ok, one word can: TIGHT!! I thought I’d ordered two sizes up because my wedding is a year and a half away and I wanted to make sure that I could alter, if necessary. I’m in graduate school, and stress eating is a real thing! Anyway, I zipped up my beautiful Enzoani dress and it fit like a damn glove….Here’s to being on the scale every day, making sure nothing changes.
While it didn’t seem like there was any room for alterations, except for the hem (I’m pretty dang short), I now look back at the pictures and realize that I think it needs to be adjusted slightly in the mid section. Again, the big day is in May of 2015 so there will be no alterations in the near future, but I’m glad that I at least have “room to grow” and can pull out a Reese’s during finals week.
Now to the reason I’m creating this post. I wanted to know what you all thought as far as alterations are concerened, how you might feel about the adding of a belt, and what kind of hair style you see me in.
Originally when I bought this gown, judging from the sample, the gown looked like a fit and flare. It actually isn’t, and I’m ok with that, but I don’t know if maybe I should go ahead and alter it that way. The dress could possibly classified as a very slight fit and flare, as it is. It just doesn’t have much tulle underneath. So, my question for you lovely Bees is should I alter it or leave it as is?
Next question: I’ve seen other brides add a belt to their Enzoani BT13-1 dress, and I like it a lot. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if that would make me look even shorter, by cutting off my mid section.
3rd Question: How do you see my hair? My wedding theme is Pride and Prejudice and I was thinking since the neckline is so elegant, it may be better to do an updo. I’m just not sure if I should do a polished updo or a messy one. The wedding is taking place in a ballroom in my hometown, so it’s very elegant and classy.
Final Question: You can see my veil in these photos, but I don’t know if I should add a headband. I haven’t been able to find a picture where brides do both a headband and veil during their wedding and that’s what I’m leaning towards, so if any of you used both during your wedding and have a picture, please upload it!
Thank you ladies for your help!!
