My dress is here! I know the wedding isn’t for a year, but I found THE ONE (Maggie Sottero Gatsby) back in March and ordered it, and it’s finally here!! Just wanted to share some pictures….
This might help the shorter brides – I’m about 5’2.5 and I ordered the petite (3″ shorter) dress that Maggie Sottero offers. With 3″ heels, the length is absolutely perfect!! I’ll be wearing TOMS wedding wedges in Ivory (the groom and groomsmen will be in TOMS too).
I’m at my highest weight now (I’ve been 30lbs lighter in the past year… I’ve gained the love pudge) and working to lose – since the dress fits perfectly now, at my current weight, I’m sure it will be great after I lose a bit. I have no problems getting it taken in!
For other alterations: I want to have the satin ribbon belt taken off the waist. In one of the pictures, you can see that there is a GORGEOUS lace/beaded “belt” sewn into the dress. I don’t get why they added the satin one to cover it up. I’ll also have it taken in to create more of a V-shape in the corset backing, and I want to create a more dramatic sweetheart neckline (but not TOO dramatic) when they take in the bust. I hope y’all like it!

I love the fit on you and your figure is perfect, IMO. I agree with you about taking the belt off.

(and others) Thanks for the nice comments! I keep telling people I want to have “Michelle Obama” arms for the big day, so that’s my biggest project right now.
I’m also thinking I’ll dye the corset ribbon blue for my ‘something blue’. Has anyone ever seen that done before? I sure haven’t, but I just read a post about a red ribbon on the back of the dress, and it sounds like a neat idea.

I LOVE the dress.. I was trying to figure out which girl posted it! I have to say though…. I looked at her website.. the dress looks a lot different on her than it does you. Did you remove the straps or anything? I just think it looks A LOT better on you, than her.
Now I’m looking at the model and I’m nervous haha. You make the dress look really good!!
