So my niece texted me today to tell me she got the call that her Bridesmaid or Best Man dress was in. I was soooo excited (even if it’s not the color I meant for it to be). I got on texting the other bridesmaids to let them know and again full of excitement. THEN I looked at my phone and saw a voicemail. It was the bridal store and MY dress was in too! YIKES!!
I had ordered my dress quite a while after them so I really wasn’t expecting it this soon. I’m TERRIFIED to go in and try it on why? Beacause I haven’t lost an ounce of weight since ordering it. I’m so mad at myself for not getting with the program not to mention embarrassed that I talked up my plans for losing weight to the consultants and now I haven’t even budged.
Grant it I still have time but the message said if I want alterations that I need to make an appt with that dept and they will want to see me 5 months before my wedding. Okay, that’s December so I really really need to get on it.
I’ve already informed fiance that we will be buying a Shake Weight and 30 Day Shred this weekend! I’m also terrified to try it on in front of my bridesmaids beacuse they haven’t seen it yet and what if it doesn’t even fit??

Why would they want to see you 5 months before your wedding? That sounds like a huge amount of time. Last year, before we moved our wedding back, I did mine two months out for the first and the last was scheduled only a week out. I would call and ask them about the timing.

@vicozzie: I know exactly what you mean. I ordered my dress 2 months ago, and said I still was planning to lose 15lbs before the wedding because that’s been my goal weight forever. I’ve lost like 1lb in 2 months. I still have tons of time, but still, I better get on it too. Luckily you still have a good amount of time until December. Don’t stress too much! That can affect weight too. 🙂
Oh, and I bought the 30 day shred. I did it for 10 minutes and thought I was going to die!!! So hard! Before I started it, I thought, “Oh, I’ve been doing p90x for months. This will be so easy.” Yeah right! It was ridiculous!

@tksjewelry: Seeing me 5 months before would be my first fitting, I’d certainly be going more than just that. Lord I hope to need alterations right up until the wedding 🙂 It’s just knowing that the first one is only four months away freaks me out.
@the rest of you…now I’m scared to buy the 30 day shred. I have ALOT to lose so that dvd just may kill me! Seriously. Maybe I need to start off with something a little easier. Maybe I just get out my Wii Fit and do that for a while and then move into something harder.

I don’t know, I kind of agree, 5 months sounds like a long amount of time for your first fitting.. I had my dress paid for over two years before my wedding, and I just had my first fitting yesterday, and I’m three months out.. If you’re planning on losing weight, I would think that waiting an extra couple of months wouldn’t crunch time in any way, it would give you some extra time, and you wouldn’t have to pay ridiculous amounts of money in alterations if you do end up losing a bunch of weight.. You do have plenty of time though, just get into a routine and stick with it, and you’ll be fine 🙂

Oh man can I relate! I lost a bunch of weight before I even went dress shopping. I ordered my dress in April. Since then, I’ve put most of the weight back on, and I’m not looking forward to the call that my dress is in! I too, have enough time, I’m just disappointed that I’m not super exited for that call!

@vicozzie: If you can do girly pushups and jumping jacks you’ll be fine! It will kick your ass the first few times you do it though, no matter what size you are!
