I just got the call that my dress is in – three months ahead of the estimated ship date, and only one month after I ordered it!
I’m super excited, but nervous! I was between sizes, but just BARELY. My waist measurement was a half inch over the smaller size, but two inches smaller than the bigger size, so I went with the smaller. Now I’m worried it won’t fit!
Also, my wedding isn’t until June 2014! That’s a loonnnggg time to have to store a dress, and my shop doesn’t do storage. My parents are already planning on storing it in my childhood bedroom, but still – I’m worried about damage due to storing it for so long.
And, gratutious dress pictures in the sample (Mori Lee 4808 with a black grosgrain sash):

I doubt it will be damaged from storing it, but you may need to have it professionally steamed right before the wedding to make sure it doesn’t have any major creases going on the day of. Our sizing is similar, I am also a half inch above the smaller size and ordered the smaller size as well. Hopefully we’re both right that it will work out just fine! If not, we’re in the same boat…

I trust your childhood bedroom more than the shop! 🙂 I’m not until September 2014 and I’m thinking about ordering soon.. better early than later!

you look seriously stunning!!! I think as long as you store it properly (which I’m sure you will) you’ll be fine!!

@StL.Ashley: dont store it in a plastic bag. I covered my dress is white sheets anda few pins, per requests from my alterations lady. You could always buy a cloth bag, too. 🙂

It’s so beautiful on you!

That top looks great on you =) Don’t worry about a small difference in fit, you still have a year! I’m sure even if you’re not quite there yet, it will fit wonderfully when it’s time to begin the alterations.

Absolutely stunning and breathtaking on you! I don’t love the black sash because I feel it looks harsh on such a soft and romantic dress, but thats just personal opinion :P. Your fiance will be blown away. 🙂

@StL.Ashley: don’t worry about the long storage! I bought my dress in December and its been hanging in a spare closet since! And my wedding isn’t until May 2014. Hang it in a cloth bag so that it isn’t rumpled and make sure it’s away from light and any extreme temperatures and moisture. You’ll be totally fine!
You look stunning! Congrats!

@StL.Ashley: I love your dress! So pretty and you look fantastic in it. You could get away with wearing it as is, I can’t tell that it’s a half inch too tight in the pix. Now I’m a little “augh I shold have gone with the one with the pearly buttons down the back!” But only a little because I love my really different lacey dream of a dress too!
That’s super fast delivery, btw. I ordered mine last week & it’s not supposed to arrive until around November or December.
Also just because your dress just arrived now doesn’t mean you have to do your fittings right now. I would not be worried. You can alter it around the holidays if you want to get on a workout plan. Actually we can be internet workout accountability buddies if you want bc I’m getting married May 2014
