My dress isn’t in the Ivory family, is’nt quite whitest white, it’s called “natural” and I”m told it’s considered diamond white per my bridal consultant….we had bought my fiance his tie and shirt, after describing my dress color to the salesperson, but after I brought it home and put it up next to my dress I can tell the white tie was WAY TOO white, like it’s white white…and the shirt he bought was even whiter than the tie he bought, so now I”m torn at what to do.
My fiance’ wants to weair a white vest, tie and shirt…how do I go about finding a more complimentary vest and tie, and does the shirt, vest and tie all have to be the same white???
Had no idea there were so many different shades of white.

I would say it would be okay. No whites will ever match 100%. Like you said, there are just too many shades of white!
Personally, I would be okay with it. But if you are picky about that stuff, then I would just buy as many white shirts/ties/vests you can and see which ones match the best!

I think white is totally fine. I had a light ivory dress, and we played with ivory and white shirts – the ivory was too ivory and the white was too white – we ended up going with the white, and nobody noticed at all. Not even we notice when we go back to the photos!

Yeah, the more I read about this, the more people say it really doesn’t matter and won’t be noticible at all. I’ve looked at lots of pics too. I don’t think going Ivory is the answer, because Ivory is far too Ivory/cream…way off from my dress. Maybe White it shall be..

My dress is also ‘natural’ and I went through this same debate! In the end I decided to go with the white for my Fiance. I like the white so much better than the ivory and when i held the swatch of the dress up to white and ivory, the white looked so much better in my opinion.
What dress are you wearing?

@turtle62212: Mikaella 1512…yeah, I’m leaning towards white shirt and tie but not sure if I want him to wear a white vest anymore, It hink that might be too much white next to me…so I’m going to see how it looks with a black vest…and then maybe I’ll get him a buttionier that is a closer match to my dress….or something.
I’ve been looking at pics and I swear I’ve been to so many weddings and none of this ever occured to me, the color Ivory or off white on a dress never even occured to me…. and I”m just now looking at people’s wedding pics on fb and noticing most of the brides wore ivory, or some off-white comparted to their grooms shirt or tie, if they wore a white one. Funny the things you start to notice when you are getting married.
