Sounds like you have some good ideas! One thing I thought of was making a baby dress out of some of the material. That is the sort of thing that could be passed down through the family for generations to come 🙂

It would be adorable tea length…maybe you can even add a little color like a touch of green to match your wedding colors.

My Future Sister-In-Law had the same dress, and her Husband pulled out the bussle as well. I think it would make a really cute little tea length dress. = )

That would totally work tea length. Or you could do a Trash the Dress shoot considering it’s partly trashed already…

I think it would be very cute as a tea length dress and yes you could use the rest of the dress for something memorable.

I think it would be so cute as a tea length. You might even consider dyeing it.

Tea length sounds cute!  I also like the idea of doing a trash the dress shoot, since you won’t care so much the condition the dress is in!  Could be fun…

You look gorgeous!  I think the dress would be great as a tea length or even knee length.  I was planning on saving the material from my train (I had it shortened) to give to my future Mother-In-Law as she loves to quilt.  Maybe you could do something like that.  You get a dress and something else to remember the day by!

*sighs dreamily* Your dress is SO gorgeous. And I think that if making it tea length will get rid of the hole problem, then it’s an AWESOME idea. =)

Forget tea length, go skinny to the knee!

You look beautiful in your dress!  Sorry to hear about the dress damage – I agree that it would look very nice tea-length.  Perhaps the extra material could be used to make an heirloom to pass down to your daughter one day – i.e. the lining of a handkerchief, or garter?
