Well I lost three pounds last week and went in to try on my dress – the seamstress let out a bit at the hips too and while it fits the dress is screwed up – the ruching is not laying flat over the stomach and the boning is messed up so the lining is wrinkling

I am livid to say the least – thank goodness it is not my main dress but my after dress but still – an expensive Maggie that might be ruined and now I have to figure out what to do if she cannot fix it.

The good news is that the back fat issues are gone with both of my dresses now that I lost three pounds – hoping to lose more over the next 2.5 weeks!

My dress is too tight!!! Im so upset. I bought it last October and its the Allure 8862 dress and I so adore it! I cannot wait to wear it, that is if I can get into it! I have my bridal portraits in two weeks and I can barely zip it now, but as of about three weeks ago, I couldnt get it over my hips, so zipping it is some progress. Hopefully by June 23, 2012 when I have to wear it for real, Ill be ok, but until then, boot camp it is!!! Good luck ladies, I know I need it!! 🙂

So I had my much dreaded first alterations appointment yesterday, and the dress actually fit!  I am so relieved.  The only thing she has to do is bustle and hem the dress.

It was a corset back and I think my Mom wasn’t doing it exactly right when I tried it on at her house, but when the woman at the bridal shop did it it looked perfect.  So something to think about if anyone has a corset that doesn’t seem to be fitting!

I first ordered my dress in June of 2011 and ended up having it come into the store in early September last year. To my horror, they could not zip the dress up all the way. However, after that, I started working out regularly and watching what I ate and dropped enough weight in the five months between getting the dress and the first alterations appointment that they will have to take in the dress a little bit.

@islandbabes: I see that you’ve already started to see progress so hopefully that will continue for you! Best wishes to all of the ladies in here! 🙂

My dress was JUST the right size and that in it of itself made me nervous. I went on a strict fresh foods diet and limited all processed foods including many starches. I also increased my cardio between volleyball sessions. I have lost ten pounds thankfully and my dress is now a little loose (which I can handle).

If you have some inches to lose around the hips/waist I would recommend walking/jogging/running in sprints/cycles. Fat burning is a great way to flatten that area to lose inches quickly. You don’t have be a marahoner just try 30 seconds of each and work your way up.

Best of luck and hope the dress is perfection!
