I went in for my first fitting on 5/6. Two weeks later, the dress is too tight! They’re going to have to let it out half an inch, because it was squeezing me around the ribs and even though I’m pretty thin, gave me a good amount of back fat.
Damn you, Doritos!
I have to go in for one final fitting on 5/29, so it’s diet/exercise time to make sure I’m not going to have this problem again.
This is making me think of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s monologue at the Golden Globes:
“The Hunger Games – what I call the six weeks it took me to get into this dress!”
“The Life of Pi(e) – what I’m going to call the six weeks after I get this dress off!”

Aww… Good luck with the next one!! But don’t lose too much if they are taking it out.

Sorry to hear this. I will caution you though not to go crazy on the diet. If they are going to let it out make sure you don’t loose too much or they may have to take it again. I lost about 7 pounds between my last fitting and the wedding and my dress ended up a little loose. Thank goodness for tape!!

What are you wearing underneath your dress? I had planned on wearing a bustier/long line bra under my dress and had terrible back fat! I tried my dress on WITHOUT the bustier (just no bra at all) and my back fat was pretty much non-existant. Maybe try a different undergarnment or no undergarnment at all and see if that helps!

what is it about wedding planning that makes you snack? i swear… i never had a problem with fitting into things until now. i think it’s because i’m actually focused on it. this is one of the top ten reasons why i can’t wait until wedding planning is over.
good luck! you can do it. drink water, exercise, eat but don’t snack. stay focused.

@everyheart: “Damn You Doritos!!” …if I had a penny for everytime I said that… 🙂

Thanks! It’s frustrating to stay at the ever elusive “perfect” size – not too big and not too small. I think it’s because I’m so short that even 1-2 pounds makes a difference.
No undergarments – they’re sewing cups in. I can just imagine what it would be like if I tried to fit something else in there!
Yes! I never had problems before, either. It’s like I decided, “I have my dress. Now let’s sabotage my plan of fitting in it.”
Haha! Why do they have to be so damn delicious?

@everyheart: i feel the exact same way. i may or may not have had 2 pieces of birthday cake late last night… if i didn’t have a wedding in 95 days, i would NEVER do anything like that.

is the back the biggest problem? I’d suggest just taking it out.
I’ve started the dress shopping process, and have recently gained a couple pounds.

I think the beauty of corset backs is being able to tighten or loosen the dress due to a weight loss/gain during the last few weeks before the wedding.
