My dress has been worn by a billion trillion brides, but I bet it will be the first time my guests see anybody wearing it.  Stop sweating it.

@wyomingbride: Of course now I’m curious, which dress are you wearing?

I have yet to see either of my dresses anywhere online a year after the wedding, but I’m always happy when one makes an appearance in a magazine or Say Yes to the Dress.

I am like that too when I come  up with really cute ideas for the wedding just to find out it’s been done a million times. lol. I just have to keep reminding myself that most people probably have never seen it before and probably won’t even think about it that way.

@wyomingbride: I can’t see it on your profile, bio or gallery, maybe I don’t know where to look 🙁

That is a gorgeous dress though! I’ve seen people post pics of it as their “dream dress” before so you should be proud of it. For every bride out there that has worn it there’s probably a lot more that wished she was wearing it.

@wyomingbride: try to spin it as a good thing instead of a bad thing. Being able to own a Melissa Sweet gown for your wedding is a wonderful thing. It’s a privilege really – to be able to afford such a couture piece for such a special day. Wouldn’t it be odd if it wasn’t featured on the net? It’d be like expecting Mercedes or BMW to not advertise how great they are. She designs for one of the oldest, expensive, famous wedding brands in American history. It’s a classic.  Think “lucky” not “unlucky” 🙂

That was almost my dress – I went with Melissa Sweet’s Fern instead.  Great choice!  It really looks lovely on you.

Spending lots of time on wedding blogs, it’s easy to feel like every wedding idea you have has already been done to death, but unless your guest list is full of soon-to-be or very recent brides, it’s likely nobody will have seen the dress before.

I love the Dora! I just looked at your gallery and you look great in it. I would take it as a compliment that it’s such a beautiful dress. The other bright side is if you feel like selling it after, you will probably have an easy time because it’s so popular.

So far I haven’t seen anyone with my dress, but I think that’s because it’s fairly new.  I have gotten quite a few private messages from girls asking me what designer and style it is, so it will probably start popping up all over the place next year.  I think it just means we have good taste 🙂
