Hey BEES! So I ordered vw351010. I didn’t have a great experience. I drove over 7 hrs to get to a store that said they had vw351010 in my size, but they didn’t. I even told them how far I was coming and to please double check. Anyways, you’ll see these dresses just like my mother did 🙂
First I tried on the very popular 351011. Ivory and Blush. Blush was a smaller size… I think it fit better. This is where I fell in love with the sash- but this one wasn’t wide enough for my liking. It didn’t show off my curves very well. The wider sash helps accentuate, instead of looking like a string wrapped around a balloon 😉
But alas, I know vw351010 was the one… and the closest size they had was a 4. Let’s just say I’m no where close. So, I held it up…
I knew this was it, and I feel like ordering the larger size was smart because no matter what- they can always alter down…
I bought it exactly as shown on the mannequin. I haven’t seen the grosgrain sash on the website, but it is from the Vera Wang WHITE coillection.
BUT- THEN IT ARRIVED. Within a month mind you, not 5 months out like they had told me. It was awful. I put on the dress and was absolutely underwhelmed. I freaked out. I had had to shipped to my house because I am so far from a Davids and it was supposed to be a final sale. Panic set it. I had made a terrible choice. NO altering could make it look like it did on the mannequin. I called up Davids again and they were awesome. I had to send it back to them (on my dime of course) but they then ordered the new one for me in the smaller size. Then I went to ATL and tried it on again and I felt like a sausage- so I had to call and change sizes on them. I felt horrible. I wasn’t mean, but I feel like this is the most Bridzilla-y I’ve been through the whole process. Can you change my dress again, and again? (yikes!) Let’s just hope it comes early like that last one did- because it’s not scheduled to arrive till TEN, 10 (GASP!!) DAYS before my wedding. I hope I don’t need too many alterations- although I am dying to make it a sweetheart neckline like I’ve seen on a few other Bees. I even bought the black crystal sash- which I might transfer the rhinestones to the wider sash. I also bought the rhinestone hairpiece. Phew! Hopefully it’s all done with the exception of finding a bra and maybe sewing the new sash together.
It’s super slimming (forgot to take a pic of it on- sorry!). Gorgeous. I am having a metallic wedding. I’m wearing with these Steve Madden heels:
These Sorrelli earrings:
The rhinestone Vera hair comb (I’ll have my hair half up and comb in the back)
I’m having a very modern, rooftop wedding in the city. I think this dress is AMAZING. Now, what to do abut a veil? I can’t decide on that at all…
I was lookign at this one in the store (but I wear it lower- where the comb would be)
Simple, and nice though. Or do I need a blusher?
Thanks for letting me vent my dress frustrations because my lovely fiance has had enough dress talk for a lifetime ;)… and he didn’t even get to see it!
