I know I am scared of what I will receive, but I did not really have the time to ask them and wait for their sample. I just hope it will be ok. I don’t really mind it not being silk organza, I know that for that price I should not expect the best quality on the market, I just need the dress to be cut right and not be stiff, I would be happy with that scenario.

Thank you!

I will definitely post my experience. If it was not for the other brides posting theirs, I would have never been able to place my order or even narrow it down to some specific sellers.

I think it is important to share the information, as we are usually so grateful to find the information and then for some reason, after we get what we want we always make excuses and say we did not have time to review.

And I speak from personal experience, everytime I go to a new restaurant, I read reviews first, but coming back I am always too tired or too busy to post one of my own.

But this time it is a review I won’t miss for sure, because I found all the pics of dresses on the board were essentials.

Oh oh I am going on and on, when I could have kept it short and sweet, lol.

sorry !  🙂

Thanks!

a friend of mine is a seamstress and she took the measurements,

I hope everything is going to be fine, because I remember trying on the dress in store it was perfect everywhere but it was kind of tight where it becomes narrow on the leg area. we added a 2 inches but I did not want to loose the fit either.

Anyhoo the countdown has begun. I just want to see the dress now.

@Ladychris81: It’s great you have a seamstress friend to make any final alterations you might need! I need to do some research on some inexpensive local people… Jealous!

Well don’t be jealous, she specialized in men clothes so she could take the measurements but does not feel comfortable making the alterations, especially when ruffles are involved. And I will not be comfortable leaving her my dress after her saying that, lol. So we are on the same boat.

I hope and pray the dress will come almost perfect, because I live in a city where everything is expensive. Just to alter the length of my pants it is $10, so I can’t imagine how much it will be for a dress!!!

I contacted the seller today, he said he will try to finish the dress for May 15th.

It seems so far!!!!

Can’t wait, and let’s all hope we will not need major alteration.

Have to say, your dress is beautiful, but I could never order any from China. Even in the picture you have posted, in the background you can see milion working places so tight. This people, or even children, are working crazy hours for one cup of rice. From where I come from there’s a lot of fabrics that are about 140cm wide, not 190 (which is a standard measure). Saleswoman explained to me, that they are from China and children have naturally shorter hands arms, thay can’t cut fabrics that wide. This is so cruel. I am sorry to say that, your dress is beautiful and I’m happy for you, I just wish people would stop buying replicas from China.

I am taking 2 minutes to comment on the exploitation subject,  but I am not here to change minds.

I have to tell adw2c : I have a lot of respect for you and you helped me buy wonderful dress with all your comments, hence you helped made my day special. So thank you! And thank you also for that fabulous, honest and very accurate reply to the message left on that thread.

I worked in the clothing industry (big designer names I will not mention not to be recognized and by that I mean sued by them) and TRUST me made in Italy, France, USA only means half of the time that one element of the item could have been put/installed/ placed in that country, when the rest was made in China or Pakistan, etc…

It is unfortunate but people have to eat, children usually work to help their family, and being African I know what I am talking about, because it happens all the time in our country. Not giving them the chance to work for that money can lead to starvation because they are sometimes the sole providers of their families, so honestly it really depends how you look at it. It is better to avoid these companies, and I wish I always did by doing my homework but it is also a reality.

Plus being paid $8/hour to do the same in America is still exploitation (or I know I see it that way).

It is one thing to have an opinion but another to try to make someone feel bad about buying a dress. (this is not an attack by the way, because the messages up there are very respectful) but I was with a friend of mine when I read the post and she started lashing out at people buying from China, so I want to make sure people who have remorse can have different opinions here.

I had the money to buy an expensive one but refuse to pay that price, especially when you will wear that dress only one time in your life (or you hope). But some brides would like to look good and cannot afford the $2000 and up dresses stores offer.

So if you do not feel like buying a dress from China, it is your choice but do not go on blogs where the main goal is to inform you on the best companies to do just that.

it seems a bit odd to go to a Honda Accord dealerships when you only shop for Ferrari, or to suffer and try to buy a Ferrari when you can only afford the Accord. it seems to me like a waste of your time, but whatever makes people happy. I rather be the person who has a car that looks and feels like a luxury car but did not cost as much.

Please, please, please if you want to avoid child labour, do your homework, that’s all. You cannot dismiss a chinese company based on a stereotype, this is just racist, not all companies are dishonest, come on!

And price has nothing to do with it, it is not because a price is low that it has to be suspicious. I sold $500 shirts in a European store when it cost the company $17 buck to make 1 one those silk shirts, if you feel like paying for a brand name, go ahead.

For those who are interested we are trying to provide you with the most info we can so you do not get screwed over and do not end up crying over a dress you will never wear.

on that note I wanted to copy paste another message  as a reply to a few ladies who asked me for pictures

Good evening.

Hi I finally got married, so I wanted to quickly post the dresses I wore and the ones I bought for my maid of honour and my bridesmaid.(will try to put the same message on different thread I followed to make sure that anyone who asked me for pictures can see them) So sorry for duplicates.

my first dress is from enjoystore (Ebay store) $240 including shipping but not custom around $40

then it was too big on the hips so I had it altered for $100

(the dressilyme dresses do not include the shipping and custom fee)

my second dress and the 2 other dress are from Dressilyme

mine was $166 now it is at $200 STYLE NO.WWD002BV so I guess they went up or they had a sale.

MH was $141 custom made with picture,

BB was $156 on sale (ready to buy) STYLE NO.PPD0086X

Hope this information helps

Me too!! 🙂

Paris and Rita were so helpful for the last 3 dresses. I was amazed by the customer service.

I recommended them to a bunch of people.

As I mentioned somewhere on this board, I really love enjoy dress store, but don’t be in a rush when you buy your dress as he is so busy that it may (will) happen that he will not reply for a week or so, and that’s when you will start to freak out. You will get the dress eventually but as long as you know this you are prepared.

I had a totally different experience with Dressilyme, I felt like the reply came back as soon as I hit the send button.

I forgot to buy garment bags when I purchased the dresses, I emailed them, they added the bags to my final order,  in order for me not to pay for extra shipping fee.

Very good company.
