Just thought I’d stop in to share my Dressilyme experience to help any other brides considering using them for your own wedding.
Long before I got engaged, I fell in love with this Romona Keveza dress and I had grand plans of purchasing it for my reception dress….those plans changed as soon as I found out that the dress sells for $4000! – WAY too much for a second dress.
So I set out to find a used one but had no luck. I began researching having the dress made for me and reluctantly placed my order with Dressilyme.
I sent them the photo and they quoted me $250 to have it made. I didn’t expect much from them, and I thought that there was a good chance that I’d hate the dress and end up tossing it. I was totally wrong!!!
Four weeks after sending in my measurements, they sent me these photos of my dress. I wasn’t in love with the photos but I figured that some alterations could do the trick.
Once I got the dress in the mail, it was a little too big for me and the belt they included with extremely flimsy – I’m pretty sure it was just a strip of cheap ribbon with buttons sewn to it.
I took the dress to Rex Fabrics here in Miami (where I also had my wedding gown alterations done) and they altered the dress to fit me and created a belt. The belt was $85 to make and included the fabric, labor and a Swarovski crystal applique for the side of the belt. They did a fabulous job!
Here are some pics of the finished product:
I hope this helps some of you would be Dressilyme brides! I had a great experience with them and would definitely suggest them – as long as you are open to making a few alterations once you receive your dress.
