Ditto. If your guaged holes are too big (i’m not sure what a 0 is), then cover them up with big pearl style ones. Like the big vintagey-button look. It’s always a classic and might solve your dilemna.

I think it really depends on how you feel about the gauges in the longer term — if you’re starting to get sick of them, then go ahead and gauge them down.  If you like them though, I’d say try to find an earring that will work with them (any way you could put pearls or crystals or something on the regular gauges you wear)?  I think it might look weird if you try to cover them up — won’t the rest of your earlobe hang down to show below your earrings?

I would go with clip-ons. Try on some and see what’s comfortable for you, and what fits your style. No duct-tape…..hee hee….wear what works for you!

I have a question … how do you guage them down? I thought once they stretched out they stayed that way.

I agree with swedishfish that you could think about how you will like your gauged ears in the longer term. I used to have my nosed pierced (I had it for about 3 years), but I took it out about a year before the wedding because I knew I wouldn’t want it pierced in my wedding photos (and all along I had known I wouldn’t want it forever, which is why I picked a piercing that was pretty much totally reversible).

So if you are getting sick of having such big-gauged earlobes regardless of the wedding, then I would start downsizing to something smaller. However, I also thought that once you’ve gauged up your lobes never really return to normal..but you might get close(r). But if you just want something more traditional for the wedding, then clip-ons could be a great option (especially chunky ones that will cover up the lobe) and they will work regardless of the gauge.

I have the same problem. My ears are a little bit gauged, it’s very difficult for me to find a earing that fits well. So I’m going to take a small surgery to close them. It’s a quick ambulatorial procedure, and it’s cheap. You still have time to do the sam, but if you don’t want, big pearl vintage clip-on should work well.

If it were me, I would gauge them down. However, if that isn’t an option, I would opt for larger clip-on styles that would cover up the holes. Good Luck!
