Hi all! My engagement party is this Sunday, 2:30-5:30pm, in a cute little quirky French bistro in Brooklyn. We will be inside mostly, minimal walking/ dancing, and it’s right by our apartment. We are expecting about 50 guests, family and friends. Weather will be clear and mid 50s. I’m so excited! But I don’t know what to wear… help!
Here are two I like – a pink one, and a white one with little black flowers on it (ignore the shoes, bag, and hair!) I also have a teal 3/4 length-sleeve heavier sweater dress, knee length, with a small heart-shaped key hole on the neckline (not pictured, I feel like that material is too heavy/dark for the occasion..)
So what do you think… Pink dress? White dress? Other? Any suggestions for shoes, bag, hair, leggings?! Thanks! 🙂

Both look super casual to me IMO. These seem like outfits that your guests might wear, not a person being celebrated!

I like the white dres much more, though it seems very summery. The pink dress really washes you out with dirty blonde hair and light skin.

I think both of those are too casual for a bistro party. I use Rent the Runway for everything, so… this is more of what I would think of when I think bridal shower:

circlingskies : Though pretty, the alternatives you posted are a bit underwhelming since, as a PP mentioned, you are the guest of honor. I think you would look wonderful for your special ocassion in something like these:

You look lovely in the pink but again I’m going to agree with all the other posters, you should take this opportunity to really shine! It’s a day of celebration and tbh I would wear little dresses like what you posted to go do my grocery shopping.
What bouviebee : posted is lovely and reasonable at 49 bucks! Very pretty! You are a bride to be! Embrace it

Both have fabrications that are too light/ summery for Fall in NYC. I would keep looking or use some of the RTR suggestions you received. Try to find a dress made of a heavier crepe or lightweight wool.

Do you have a picture of the sweater dress? That sounds like it could be lovely with the right accessories.
I agree that the two you posted are quite casual/ underwelming. The white one is very pretty though.

bouviebee : I love that garden dress. It does look more suitable to the occasion.
