and i have no idea where it is because i noticed it after i had been out an about for a few hours. I was at a hospital, then to a restaurant. I left my number and description with the restaurant, and the hospital was no help at all. I’m still holding out that someone turned it into someone at the hospitial and it will eventually make it’s way to the security station where they keep the lost and found stuff. I feel awful about this 🙁 . Fiance says it’s no big deal and he’ll get me a new one exactly the same. But i don’t WANT a NEW one, i want the ORIGINAL! My sister was trying to cheer me up by saying it’s going to be a good story one day to tell my kids/grandkids. But right now i just feel horrible and irresponsible. Anyone else ever lose their engagment/wedding ring and never ever found it? What did you do? get an exact replica? or something new?

Oh no! Fingers crossed that some good samaritan will help get it back to you.

I didn’t lose mine, but after having it only a week I dented it somehow which shifted the diamonds. They fixed it for free, but I can still kind of see where it was dented, and the lady at the jeweler got mad at me and said I shouldn’t wear it at night EVER! Because sheets are hell on rings. Fiance was kind of mad too, and he randomly says “dented your ring lately?” Good luck to you!

Oh my! I bet that is a sick feeling! Hopefully someone will find it and do the right thing!
This is my biggest fear. I have FI’s great-grandmother’s ring. I would DIE if I lost it.

Did you take it off somewhere? Did it just fall off of your finger?

I really hope it is just misplaced and not lost. Maybe it will turn up somewhere, fingers crossed for you.

My Fiance would tell me it was my fault and wouldn’t replace it… at least your Fiance is willing to replace it if it’s not found! Thats a plus! My Fiance said his ex wife lost hers and he didn’t buy her another one… lol He gets mad if I forget to put it on when we leave the house… I know your heart is breaking, I do so hope you find your ring! Good luck!

was it insured??!! im sure it will turn up…if it doesnt…remember the ring is only the symbol of your love….nothing else. if your Fiance is not mad then you shouldnt be either. just breath…. and we are sending you lots of ((hugs)))))

Way back in the day, soon after my grandma got engaged, she was doing housework. They lived on a farm and had no indoor plumbing and they brought water in to do dishes and the like. Well, she took a tub of dirty dish water to toss out into the snow and when she flung the bucket, her ring flew off with it! They searched for a long time and never found it. She had to get a new one. Now it’s a funny family story, and she and my grandpa were happily married nearly 50 years before he passed away. It will suck if you have to get a new one, but remember that the marriage and the man are more important and that whatever ring you wear will be a symbol of how much you care about each other 🙂

@Lee_Ann:Good luck finding it again! I just got mine and have been looking into insurance for this very reason… We don’t have the money lying around to replace it.
Sheets are hell on rings? I’ve never heard such a thing. Did she go into details on why? I only take mine off to wash my hair and clean.

umm not to threadjack but what your Fiance says seems pretty mean!

My boss lost one of her wedding bands, she has a band on both sides of her engagement ring. It was lost for months and she was really upset because it was all one set. She didn’t know how long it had been off her finger or where she lost it. One day, she went out to clean their RV before a trip and there it was right on ground by the front door. Keep your fingers crossed, it will be a great story one day, but for today it really sucks!

i think i took it off in the bathroom at the hospital, and i don’t remember putting it on my finger afterwards. I know I shouldn’t have taken it off, but i always do, i guess my luck ran out.
the ring was always too big for my left had ring finger, so i have been wearing it on my right hand ring finger until i get it resized, but i really hope i didn’t put in on my other smaller finger by accident and it fell off some random place like in the parking lot or something!
i know! i told my Fiance that i need karma to work in my favor this time. because at least 3 times when i’ve ridden public transportation I have found peoples keys/wallets and i ALWAYS give them to the bus driver to take to the lost and found. Now i just hope someone does the same for me.
no, we didn’t insure it because it didn’t cost that much (only about $350, that’s another reason he doesn’t mind replacing it, it’s not like it was thousands of dollars) i didn’t really think it was worth insuring.
thanks for that story! it definitely made me feel better. my sisters keep telling me that it will be a funny story that i tell over and over again (my grandma likes to tell the same stories over and over at every family function, so we talk about the stories we’ll tell to our kids/grandkids at every family function later on in life, lol)
right now though, i don’t know if i should get a replica; my ring wasn’t anything fancy, but my Fiance had it specially made for me. Or if i should get something different. I’ll probably leave it up to him. He was trying to cheer me up saying he would come up with something special and propose all over again with the new ring. I really do have a great man.
