Congrats! I know what it’s like to have a family that is unsupportive towards a relationship. My family HATES my Fiance and don’t want us to get married. I just go with what makes me happy. I’m an adult and I can make my own decisions. The same goes for you. You aren’t a child anymore so you should be able to make your own decisions and mistakes (not saying this is one of them) because how else will you learn and make it on your own? If this is a mistake, you will learn on your own and grow from it but if it’s not then you will be happy. They should be happy for you and try to help you threw the difficult times or show you they love you during the good and bad. A family is supposed to be there for support. I’d tell them and if they keep saying the things they do ignore them. My dad isn’t walking me down the isle because he doesn’t approve so he is missing out on the chance to be in my wedding. Neither of my sisters are married and neither of them are planning on even getting engaged in the next few years at least. They will be the ones to miss out if they don’t approve. You will still be happy with your Fiance.
