- Wedding: November 2012
Dear Fiance and I have been engaged for just over a year. The wedding invitations have been my crafting nemisis from day one. I thought about ordering some, but the prices were outragious. I’m moderatly crafty and resourceful, so DIY was the go-to. I snagged some Handkerchiefs online, asked my lovely SIL to be to embroider them with the D, we iron-transfered over the actual invitation onto the Handkercheif. All the paper came from the “in the box” invites from Office Depot. The ribbon came from Hobby To The Lobby and the Wax Seal “D” came from Michael’s.
Suffice to say, these invites were the biggest pain in the A$$ I’ve ever experienced. I’m sending them out tomorrow-SO YAY! NO MORE!!
I gotta say, though…for all the trouble…late nights, iron burns, wax burns, money…sore wrists and fingers…I love these. SO MUCH. I love how they turned out.
I just thought I’d share in case anybody else is attempting to do something like this. They are cell phone pics and aren’t great, but the colors are navy blue, fuschia, white and silver.
This is what the front looks like coming out of the envelope.
This is the thing flipped over, as you would see it coming out of the envelope. The ribbon is sealed around the invite with a wax seal.
And everything all opened up all together.
