Very cute!  Some may think it is a little morbid but the Day of the Dead celebrations are amazing in Mexican culture!  It just screams party to me!  Congrats!

Loooove it! I am kind of obsessed with anything that has to do with Dio de los Muertos.

I like the day of the dead tradition.  Skeletons always freak me out though, but oddly enough, these guys are cute!  I think she did a great job.  It totally fits.

Love it!  That’s totally fantastic!  I love your theme, too!  We are having a rustic wedding, but I’m enamoured with Latino culture and FH is all about skulls/skeletons, so we bought a DOTD cake topper, as well (albeit, not customly awesome like yours!).  To incorporate the topper into our theme I sewed these flags that FH screen printed our los novios on.  If you’d like a copy of the image, I’d be happy to email it to you so you can customize it for your wedding (just PM me).  =D

That’s so cute! I’m doing Day of the Dead too. Amols has some great Day of the Dead stuff. My favorite is the smoking skeleton in the sequin dress. It just cracks me up. By the way, my avatar is my cake topper. It was one of my very first wedding purchases.

@alligatress:  Got your PM, will have to wait until FH is home, he’s got the files, but I’ll def send you a copy!

We have had a couple folks “unnerved” by our cake topper.  Primarily, our friends who are gifting us our cake (whom I sent our cake topper, too) and our baker.  They both think that it doesn’t go with the simple, rustic design of our cake (and wedding in general) and keep asking if we’re sure we want that topper and/or do we want to do something different with the cake to suit the topper more!  Oh well…  I’m the kind of girl that if I have an idea in mind…  I stick with it – so we haven’t budged an inch.  I think it will work out quite well…  and no one in our family/friends will be the least bit surprised by our topper – we’re a wee bit odd, so they’d probably be surprised if we didn’t have something quirky thrown in!

I LOVE IT! We are having a day of the dead cake topper as well, but I came across mine accidentally in a greeting card store.

edit: ours doesn’t go with our wedding or cake either, but it goes with US and that’s what really matters right?
