My future mom and dad and sis in law all have done this diet – and it seemed like it became almost unhealthy for them after. They lost a ton of weight, and actually looked sick. My future mother in law actually described such a feeling in her body of fat being eaten from inside of her muscles – it creeped me out. After they got off the diet though, they gained a lot of the weight back. I believe she is on her fourth round of it, and in no way shape or form do I condone it. I thought about it myself being so desperate to  lose weight quickly, but I found out by following the Atkins diet, I had great results and a ton of energy. I look at it now and just get shuddery (is that even a word? lol) thinking about consuming a “horomone” purchaed off the internet. God only knows what is really inside that. Plus, if you get a chance to look up some of the studies they did with control vs. hcg, the after effects were the same. Just a little bit I learned from all the research I did 🙂 Good luck to you!

I have a friend who has done HCG three times, and unfortunately she gained all the weight back plus some all three times. I’m sure you already know this, but you will still need to watch what you eat after the HCG or you will probably gain a lot, if not all, of the weight back. Of course it works while you’re on it, just be careful afterwards! ETA: It sounds like you have a good plan for when the diet part is over and the maintenance begins- good luck!

I’ve done the diet going from 200 to 130 over nearly a year, with small breaks between rounds.  Over the last year I put on 35 of that back. However, it was due to really bad eating. 


I had gall bladder surgery and put on 15 pounds while laying around recovering. That made me depressed, so I threw caution to the wind and put on 15 more over the course of a few months. 

I’ll update here so as not to start a new thread, but currently I’ve lost 6 pounds this round. 

I think once I get to 140-145 I’ll stop.  Many told me 130 was too thin.  I’m 5’6.  Also, I’d tried to lose more after I got to 130, but my body wouldn’t do it as much as I tried to force it, so I think 140 is probably healthier for me.
