My wedding band is a half eternity band. For our honeymoon, I didn’t want to risk losing my ring set, so instead I wore a CZ eternity band that I bought on Berricle for around $30. I was surprised how different it felt from my actual wedding ring so I thought I’d post this for Bees who are deciding between full and half eternity bands. A big difference I noticed about the eternity band was how scratchy it was. I frequently shower while wearing my rings (I know I probably shouldn’t). If I forgot to take off the eternity ring, I would risk scratching myself when I washed my face. I did just that several times, luckily never enough to leave a mark, and it served as a reminder to take the ring off before the shower. My wedding band is channel-set in a very thin channel, so the sides of the ring are smooth. That was not the case with the eternity band. But sometimes, like against the sides of my fingers, I could feel the stones, rather than the rough sides, and it was uncomfortable. It made me glad to wear a half eternity on a daily basis.
Wedding band on the bottom, CZ eternity ring on top. You can see how the wedding band’s setting is smooth, unlike the eternity ring (though this did not account for all the scratchiness, I’m sure it didn’t help).
From the top. The CZ ring is 1.5mm, my wedidng band is 2. I like very thin, delicate bands, but since my e-ring has a 2mm band, my wedding band matches it better.
And just for fun, the CZ ring (top) framing my e-ring. I know it’s not a perfect match, but I like wearing it this way sometimes 🙂
ETA: I have sizing beads inside both my e-ring and wedding band, so spinning is never a problem.
