What do you do for your skin care routine now?

I would go to a dermatologist.  Undoubtedly it’s hormonal and over the counter stuff probably isn’t going to help it.

I switched from the pill to the ring a few years ago and broke out the same way, with huge hormonal zits concentrated on my chin. It took a while…I think like 6 months for my skin to calm down. I didn’t really change anything except being extra careful about washing routinely and now it’s back to way it was when I was on the pill. I still get breakouts but not as many as those first few months! Make sure to drink lots of water and not eat a lot of refined sugar, too.

I was on a BC that made my face awful and I stuck with it for a year and I regret that I stuck with it that long. I tried literally everything but when its hormones causing the problem, no skin routine will fix it.  See a dermatologist and think about a new BC option.
I changed my BC 7 months ago and 2 weeks later it all started clearing.  My skin is as new perfect as I think it will get.  Unfortunately now I have all these acne scars I’m trying to fade before the wedding. I just kick myself for spending 100’s of dollars on skin care stuff when what I really needed to do was get off that evil BC. Maybe it takes some adjustment time as other said but I waited to long and for no reason when there are so many options

Just some food for thought.  OH! also ifyou can afford it get facials, makes a huge difference

Hi Snowy414 and anyone else interesteed

I also have some scars and red marks that I have been praying will fade away before the wedding.  I did some research and found these excellent microdermabrasion cloths on ebay

You can purchase them alone or as part of an all-natural skin care kit.   I’ve been using them for about a month now and my red marks and scars are fading really quickly and my skin breaks out a lot less than it did before.

I tried chemical peels before, but they died out my skin and really irriated it which led to more breakouts.   Anyways there are a lot of micordermabrasion products on the market but I love the ones offered my this seller on ebay:

http://stores.ebay.com/enchantedwaters

I’m currently using the all-natural African fog soap for daily cleansing, weekly microdermabrasion treatments, and 100% pure aloe-vera for a moisturizer.  The mask is nice too…

I’m not trying to sell and thing, just pass on these great skincare products I recently discovered… and you cannot beat the price.

(Also I am so in love wit their all-natural lavender soap.  Every shower smells like walking through a field of lavender after a fresh rain.   Its amazing.  I actually talk so much about how wonder the soap smells that my Fiance is probably wishing i never found it 🙂  )

This may be tmi but what kind of zits are they? Little rash type bumps that don’t really do anything/can’t really pop them?  Painful swollen ones?  Blackheads/whiteheads/poppable? Depending on type, different stuff can help you.

I had the same problem on NuvaRing and it didn’t clear up, and I gained 20 pounds.  I went back on the pill- Loestrin- the acne cleared up and the weight came off.

OMG, I totally agree with @spinningstars! I got on the nuvaring, loved I didn’t have to remember a pill everyday, but I gained weight like a whale and my face didn’t break out so much as my SCALP did.  Big, painful, swollen bumps.  I just went of BC all together.  After about 6 months my skin cleared, my weight, well, that’s always an issue.  So, I see your wedding isn’t for a while, so you have time to get your skin cleared. BC sucks…

Murad products are great for hormonal breakouts.  Look them up online or go to Sephora and even Massage Envy’s (that offer facials) have their products.  I would try getting a facial and seeing if that helps.  Good luck!

I just got off my birth control pill, just for a month to change my period days and I’ve been breaking out like CRAZY! Like crazy, I tell you! I’ve never had acne before and I’ve got it all over my face. Nothing has really helped mine. I’m thinking I’ll need to get back on the pill to fix it. I’m on Yaz and it’s awesome for face, if you wanna try it. The generic version is gianvi.
