For my 2011 Fall wedding, I have decided I am going with a bright purple for my bridesmaids dresses. I think purple will bring out the beautiful colors of fall, and I chose a bright shade because I love the color and think its fun. Now, I am having trouble choosing my accent color, and have narrowed it down to orange or lime green.
I think I like purple and lime green a little better because it looks classy and modern together. But, the orange will really bring out the fall colors and I have always dreamed of having a fall wedding.
Below you will see a few pictures, one of the color of dresses I chose and the others of the two color schemes. I would appreciate any help or opinions on this one, Thanks!

You know, I thought I’d like the purple and orange better, but I’m leaning towards the lime green and purple. When you said “lime green” I equated it to “neon green” which I’m not a fan of, but I think it would look lovely.

I voted for purple and orange but I think the orange in the flower photo looks more like a peach tone. I think a bright purple and perhaps a darker or burnt orange might look pretty.
BUT…the green and purple also look nice together.

I like the purple-orange. I like the idea of a bright wedding.

I also voted for orange purple but the more I look at the photos I REALLY like the purple and lime/green as it’s warm and fresh.

I like purple and orange AND green! Look how pretty the little bits of green are in the boquet with the orange and purple. Just a thought!

I love the purple and orange! Its different than the usual purple & green, no offense to anyone who used those colors, just my opinion. The orange to me says more “fall” than the green.

my first instinct was to go for the purple with green accents because lime green is always a pretty accent color and the combo of purple and orange says “sports team” to me. but the purple and orange bouqet you showed doesn’t look all that bad! why not do all 3 colors??? just make sure that it doesn’t all read TOO bright together… you don’t want a technicolor wedding!

We did “plum and pumpkin” for our recent Fall wedding and think it came out gorgeous. Send me a message if you would like me to send pics.

@joannet123: oh my goodness that sounds beautiful! when you put it into different terms like that (“plum and pumpkin” instead of “purple and orange”) it makes visualizing the colors together alot easier and sounds soooo pretty! like my friends who want to use red and yellow. my first thought: mcdonalds, ketchup and mustard. but then i realized it could be looked at in the sense of “cherries and lemons”, perfect for their summer wedding. that’s not what they’re doing, but i think they should lol. can you post some pics here for some eye candy for the rest of us??

I voted for purple & orange, since you said you wanted a fall-themed wedding. I think the purple and orange look more autumn-ish and I love how the orange *pops* against the purple.

I’m actually doing green and purple for my summer wedding with it being heavy on the green and purple and silver accents. I love purple and orange for a fall wedding. Although I think orange typifies fall when I think about it.

I love the plum and pumpkin idea, that is really cute… almost too cute to pass up 🙂 These decisions are so difficult, I had no idea until I became a bride to be. Thank you everyone for your comments, they are very helpful.
