Fuck ’em.  Let them sit at home, pantsless, and play Farmville.

You don’t need those losers to have a good time.

@irishphoenix:  Your first post cracked me the freak up.

And i rarely *lol* by anything on this site.

I think you have a pretty good attitude about the whole thing, if they don’t wanna come to the wedding, no biggie.

Quality over quantity…..any day.

@irishphoenix:  join the club!  I think all the men in my family have the crazy gene.  As soon as they hit a certain age, they go off the rails in a big way!  At my wedding, my one brother and his wife and their kids , plus partners, ended up not coming after making a big, huge fuss about the fact that their kids SHOULD be able to come WITH partners…. Nevermind that they were still at school and NONE of them in any tyoe of relationship… So they fought for this to be allowed… And just ended up not coming… Leaving an empty table for ten people at my wedding which could have been used for friends!!!  Can’t choose family…. Also can’t control them.

@irishphoenix:  lol oh honey, you know its more of a blessing that they’re declining, right?! Take their invites and send them RIGHT to your friends! You don’t need drama like that in your life or anywhere near your wedding – even if they are family.

Lol at all of the responses! Probably would be fun if they all showed up so you could witness the shenanigans though.

@irishphoenix:  As soon as I read the subject line of this post I wanted to yell “HEY! Mine, too!” Seriously, don’t sweat it. You’re probably better off with them not coming. I wish most of my dad’s family would decline!

@irishphoenix:  Um, I would absolutely send them that note. Better yet, send it on facebook and use it to inform them you are defriending them for not immediately congratulating you the day of.

As PPs said, fuck ’em. Be happy they aren’t there to stir up drama on your day.

So sorry. I understand. My paternal side of the family is very into themselves and there’s tons of favortism issues on that side of the family. I’ve always been treated like an outsider, even though i am family. My cousins all had siblings, and i was an only child. My 2 aunts and all their kids would do things together that i was never included in. But then again my dad was never extremely close to his sisters, whereas his sisters are close to one another so on some level it does make sense. We’re doing an intimiate wedding with 15 members of our immediate family. It does make me sad though that i don’t have more family. Of those 15 guests we’re inviting to our wedding, only 3 are my family (my mom, my dad and his wife).
