@mixtapehearts:  I have to agree.

That isn’t funny, not at all. Maybe one photo, or two depending on personalities and the overall vibe of your wedding but EVERY photo?!?! Come on now.

@Sunfire:  everyone goes on about photoshop – but can you just download it from the web? or have to buy software (stupid question for a non-computer person) 😀

@nearlymarriedlass:  You get a free trial if you download it legally.  Of course you can download it illegally and you can also buy it, you’ve got options!

For those who are recommending just download Photoshop. It’s not like there is a creepy doll removal button. Depending on the photo it could take HOURS to remove something from an image and look natural. There is a steep learning curve to the software as well.

Nothing makes me cringe more than someone saying “oh you can just Photoshop that right?” Um, ya, I want to spend and extra 40 HOURS or so editing out the elastic you forgot to take off your wrist for 90% of the day. Just understand that a task like this can be extensive and therefore will need to be paid for.

You mom is responsible for that. My mom did something similar at my wedding. She came up to my dad during our F+D dance and hung a stupid sign around his neck. Lucky that was it so it’s only a small part of the whole day, but two years later I can’t even look at those without getting really really pissed. It was going to be too much work to remove it out of all so I just did the three that made it into the album.

I wouldn’t care how delicate my mom’s feelings were – that would result in a serious ass chewing from me. That’s just unacceptable behavior. It’s childish, and quite frankly, I find it incredibly strange. It’s not like a funny doll that made it into a few shots – she made it a point to really “jump in there” to get it in the background.

I definitely agree with

@PizzutiStudios: on this one. It would take a lot of time (= $$$) on your photographers part to edit. Hopefully when you get your pro pics back you see that it’s not in many photos. I’m willing to bet the doll was really only ciruclating during the guests photos.

@katehh08:  I would be careful going to reddit for something like this, it seems like someting some redditors would have a field day with. Apparently some of our own are talented with photoshop anyway!

I don’t give a damn if she was delicate, I would do some screaming. Clearly they were focused on taking the attention off of you and your joy and making a mockery of it. I would be more than flaming pissed, and I would actually probably demand that they pay for costs of extra editing of the wedding photos. Then I wouldn’t be speaking to them, for a while.

Ahh, that doll is creepier than I imagined!! Hopefully you can talk to your photog and work something out… and then I’d have a few words with your mother as well so she is aware of how completely inappropriate and childish that was. You don’t want to have to worry about any repeat visits from the doll!

Yeah, that really IS a pretty creepy doll.  Reminds me of this song: Creepy Doll.  Hopefully the photographer managed to miss the doll and/or will be able to edit it out.

As to your mother…I agree with the suggestion of encouraging her to seek counseling.

I am sorry your family did this to you. This is bad bad bad. This is insane. I am so sorry, and I hope that the creepy doll can be removed from the professional photos.
