This weekend was like a wedding bonanza!! We booked the place, finalized invites, picked up favors and my mom made 270 faux wax seals for me! (yes 270!!)
The scheme of my wedding is damask, purple, black and white… Well, I walk into Michael’s and guess what I find in the 1.00 bin?! Purple, black, white and damask Christmas ornaments and ink pens! We quickly picked those bad boys up for my guests. AND I had a 20% off coupon, so they were 80 cents each!!!! We affixed faux wax seals to each of the favors.

Those are great! I love the idea of ornaments for favours!

@bakerella: i LOVE Christmas!!!!!!! and well it wouldn’t be right to be that close to Christmas without them 😀
Here is the stack of pens we found, and yes we bought Michael’s completely out at that location lol!!!! My stepdad thought we spent $6 each on them!!!

They are lovely. I am at a lost as to how to have the seal though. Thats something that my bf and I are looking to have.

Great find! During my wedding planning I always kept an eye out for the $1 bin at Michaels for stuff in my wedding color but never got lucky like you!
Plus a pen is a great favor. You know people will use it and they will aways think of your wedding!

Very cute! I hope I can come across some deals like that! I am new to planning and have not seen the Michaels dollar bin, I think I will make a trip this week!

@XxsweetzxX: It is pretty easy actually. There is a wax seal thread here on the hive that you can do a search for and we just followed the directions there for the faux ones with the glue stick and then we spray painted them silver. It was REALLY EASY once we got the hang of it. Then I used glue dots to affix them to the favors.
@RayRayFurious: I was THRILLED when we saw them!! I love Christmas and honestly don’t think I picked up enough ornaments, I may have to pick up a few more lol!!!
@caszos: That’s so true!! I am also doing a candy buffet because well my friends would kill me if I didn’t because I do them so often in other areas of my life :D…
@elephant: I know right?! They had little notecards as well that aren’t pictured that I will be using as favors as well. Often times at weddings guests don’t take the favors so I only got about 70 or so of these and to be honest with you if they don’t take them, I would love to keep them myself.
@Cant pick a date: thanks!! My mom and I (mostly my mom) made about 170 of them perhaps a bit more. They will be going around the napkins, they are on the invitations as well as on the favors… If I decide to do menu cards, they will be there as well (although I am unsure about that one)…
@SandraCarol: what colors are your wedding? they usually have some great stamps etc there. also on thanksgiving they are open and have extra sales that make it more than worth your while to go.

@crebre80: We are sure of the black and white theme, but not the accent color yet. Fiance likes baby blue or red, but not sure if we want bold or light. So the day of Thanksgiving? I was going to check black friday, but if Thanksgiving is better I will go then. Thanks for the info!

What a steal and a totally great find! Nice job! 🙂 I wish I could find a solution like that for my favors!

@SandraCarol: Yep! I used to work there and people come in and swipe all of the good stuff. On Black Friday they have extra coupon incentives for early birds that end at certain times. Baby blue was my first accent that I loved with the black and white!!!
@Gemstone: OMG it was a total SCORE on that one! I was soooo excited to find them and then to have that extra 20 percent off coupon. I literally bought all of the pens out of the store that I was at.

@crebre80: Well I will have to get there on thanksgiving before everyone buys them out. I am in love with the black and white theme because any accent colors work really. It is so much fun! Baby blue is probably winning right now though! I like how you added the pattern in with the color scheme, gives it a little something extra!!
