I bought my fiance a gold wedding band with a narrow decorative boarder on the top and bottom. It fit him perfectly, but he says it’s too plain and not an antique and so it’s not “special” enough.
I’m on a tight budget and can’t afford an antique ring. He bought me an antique for my engagement ring, so I feel bad I can’t repay him with a band he likes.
I’m very sad about it. I wish he liked the one I could afford. 🙁

Can you return it or exchange it for somehting he likes better? often times, antiques are cheaper than new rings.

Can the two of you buy it together? My fiance and I have the mindset right now of “well, it’s our money” because we’ll be combining finances once we’re married anyway. I wanted a ridiculously expensive wedding band, so I bought it with “my money” (even though we don’t really think of it like that).

Look everywhere. See if there are any estate sales or antique shops nearby, ebay, etsy (handmade or vintage sections), pawn shops, etc. Does it have to be gold? There are lots of antique silver bands out there that are affordable, as well as some titanium bands that have designs on them that could look antique. Like this band for instance: http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/product168951.html
