@Asia:  It is absolutely not rude to say, please consider the feelings of your fiance.  It is a theme on these boards for brides-to-be to choose ridiculously girly things and for everyone to support them, regardless of what their fiances want.  That’s not rude to point out.

You could always try the matte lipstick that supposedly stays on your lips all day. Just a thought. 🙂

@peachacid:  Lippy is pretty universal, I am an Aussie living in the UK. I have no idea what ‘Sammy’ means, and ‘appy’ as in Happy is just a cockney thing, you’d struggle to find someone IRL who says that.

I think those balm/stains like Clinique and Revlon are doing are great, and you can still get lovely colour.

I only said use LIPPY (lipstick for those of you who dont get it) If you use something like LIPCOTE over the top to seal the colour and stop all transfering….. try lipstain before you decide one way or another because they can be drying (I cannot wear them for that reason)

But a lippy the same colour as you natural lip colour with a lip sealer over might work as a back up..? I too think its a nice concideration, each to their own and all that Smile

@OxKimi24:  MAC Russian Red is a great red matte lipstick. Just make sure to blot it on a tissue after you apply and it usually doesn’t budge much. I wore it for my wedding day!

@moniquaa:  How do you keep Mac’s matte lipstick from not drying out? I LOVE Ruby Woo but it’s simply just so drying that I am considering not using it on my wedding day.

Anyway, I am a lipstick girl. I wear Mac’s Ruby Woo at least two times a week. I also wear a reddish-pink from Nars, and a my lips but better color from Revlon. FH doesn’t like it but he’s the one that wanted to have a wedding so he will have to deal with my red lips. We have already agreed that red lips are in and he will not be wiping it off immediately like a small child.

@mammax:  The last time I used lip sealer was when I was a senior in high school – 10 years ago. It was very drying and I am a bit scarred by it. I might try it again though! I’m sure they’ve come a long way in 10 years.

@MRSsrm85:  I have Ruby Woo too and I noticed that it dries out a lot faster than Russian Red, not sure why!

I bought a lipstick sealer a few months ago, and granted it was a cheapie, but it was horrible. may as well have put pure vodka on my lips, because that’s what it felt like.

Drying, uncomfortable and  don’t even remember it actually working that well TBH. I am sure there (must be!) good ones out there, but I was unimpressed

I’m sure it depends on brand because ive heard nothing but good things about Lipcote, I was just trying to get round the leaving marks on fiances face….?

I’ll be quiet now lol
