Wow… guys don’t know anything!
We were emailing back and forth at work today and I told him we should book our engagement pictures this summer. He responds asking me if he needs his suit by then (we are going to buy him a new one for the wedding). I laughed and told him no, but I’ll definitely help dress you (or else he’d show up in ripped jeans and a ten year old t-shirt… boys). His response was this:
“What do I wear then? Don’t you wear your wedding dress?”
Hahaha! He continues to surprise me with his lack of wedding knowledge. He was just best man in a wedding a few weeks ago too!
Anyone else have silly groom stories?

@Pinkmoon: That is so cute!

This is my fiance’s second marriage and he still knows nothing about weddings.
That’s cute that he thought you wear your wedding dress!

@Pinkmoon: Tell him yes You do and but that it got stained to whatever color you are actually wearing for the shoot.
I had an issue with the original photographer because she wanted us to take photos in my dress and his tux like a year before the wedding. Needless to say I got someone else. My groom seems well versed on weddings but he has been in tons

Actually another funny story… for this wedding he was just in, he got his pants a few months ahead and promptly stuffed them in the closet to get all wrinkled. We were having dinner at my parents’ house 5 days before he had to leave for this DW (I wasn’t going). Something sparked his memory to recall that oh yeah, I haven’t gotten those pants hemmed yet! Luckily my mom could do it for him.
Then when he went over the next day for her to mark the length, he wore the pants. So she pinned them and then told him to take them off. So… he had to go home and get another pair of pants to change into, or else go home in his boxers!
I asked him what he would have done if he hadn’t realized this problem until the morning of the wedding. His solution would have been to have one of his buddies just cut them!

My FI is very interested in the majority of the wedding planning. He started his own Pinterest page and made a wedding binder (with nothing in it so far lol). He has zero interest in flowers or decorations but he’s having a lot of fun picking out the music

@luluvohn: my FI has no idea what Pinterest is!

My FI certainly is a wedding noob.. but he’s trying and catching on rather quickly! 4 months ago he had never heard of a Chiavari chair and now he won’t settle for anything less at our tables!

IThe BM called DH and asked him what color shirt he needs. DH said, “White, cream, they are all the same. Just pick one.” I said, “No they are not all the same. cream or off white is going to look dirty!” So they joked for months about the BM wearing a cream colored shirt to the wedding. Supposdily he had it with but he couldn’t bring himself to put it on as a joke 🙂

FI and I were e-mailing each other at work the other week and I mentioned how I couldn’t wait for our vacation (was this past weekend) because I was getting stressed out with wedding planning.
His response: “Well, we have the venue, caterer, photographer, DJ, and you have your dress…all I need is to get my tux. There’s not much else left to do dear!”
I proceeded to reply back with a massive list of things that need to be done, like booking our officiant…can’t really get married with no one to marry us!!
Guys have no idea!

We are both noobs (aren’t most engaged people? If it’s not a second wedding, or you’ve not been obsessed with weddings since before you could talk, how much do you really know about weddings before you get engaged?)
However, he’s picking it up quickly (his natural good taste and artistic eye really help) and he’s definitely holding up his half of the planning 🙂

Haha my FI might not be quite as bad as yours, but he’s pretty clueless on weddings. Luckily, he’s really laid back and doesn’t really care about most of the decisions. He’s be happy going to city hall so he’s letting me do whatever I want 🙂
