Okay so last week while looking at my dress I decided I hated it and wanted to sell it. Since I wasn’t going to wear it anymore I showed my fiance. Well, I planned on buying a dress from a bride, but when she sent me a picture of the dress it wasn’t the same dress she had listed online. Talk about disappointed. Thank goodness I hadn’t sold my other dress yet. I’m almost in tears. What do I do? I might have to wear the dress I showed my fiance and I won’t be getting a dress I really loved. But is this really the worst thing ever? Some brides take their fiance with them to choose the dress. I need some bee support on this one.

My Fiance came with me to pick out the dress. I don’t see what the big deal is about it.
I’m sorry you’re upset. Think about it this way: most guys have such bad memories for this sort of thing that he’ll probably have forgotten what it looks like by the time of the wedding!

Well, first of all… unless your Fiance is super attentive, he may not even realize it was the same dress.
Also, I doubt you were all “jacked up” with the hair, makeup, headpiece, jewelry, etc…. so the dress really won’t have the same “wow” factor until the day of, anyway.

In each of my weddings, I took my Fiance with me dress shopping. It’s far from the worst thing ever! And besides, even if he has seen you in the dress, he hasn’t seen you with your hair and make-up done, all your accessories, etc., so that will still be a surprise.

@Lemma: not this one. He remembers everything. maybe once he see me all made up it won’t be as bad.

Maybe I just won’t tell him I didn’t buy the other dress.

My Fiance picked out and bought my dress for me. I was thrilled! not that you should keep a secret from him, but maybe you can surprise him by wearing the original dress after he knew you were considering and shopping for a second one?

I took my then-FI now-DH to the bridal salon to get the final seal of approval before I bought my dress.
Honestly, he probably won’t remember anyway. My DH was just like “yep, it’s a white dress… yep, that’s another white dress…”.

I actually wanted my fiancee to see mine before I bought it, just for more assurance that it was the right one. My mother in law refused, otherwise I would have done it! So, no, it’s not the end of the world. 🙂

I couldn’t wait to show my dress to DH when I brought it home. So first I showed it to him on the hanger, and then later on I actually put it on and modeled it for him. I wasn’t worried about bad luck at all. I think when you’re marrying the right person, you don’t need to worry about bad luck.

@Loribeth: you’re so right!!!! Secretly, I wanted him to see it anyways. I guess my moment of panic is over for now. Thanks for the support.

I’m pretty positive that my Fiance has seen my dress because I’m the idiot that keeps leaving weddingbee open on my laptop with pics of me in my dress.
Oh well, it’ll still be exciting on the wedding day

We just really want it to be a surprise, jaw-dropping “wow” moment so he has no idea what I’ll look like. He’s seen the accessories, but not all at the same time or on me, and not the dress! I’d be really upset if he did see it somehow. He’s forbidden to google me as it comes up with my bee posts!
Maybe let him think you changed dresses and surprise him with the whole shebang on the day! 🙂 I think it’ll still have the desired effect!

I dont think its the worste thing in the world and I dont think its bad luck or anything like that. If you end up wearing that dress its okay. Plus there are a lot of guys that go dress shopping with their brides.
