I dunno; he’s fully paying for the wedding and has had no income for 6 months. It sounds like he has a sizeable savings and wants to enjoy some time off. As long as he can afford it, I don’t see what the issue is. It doesn’t sound like he’s free loading, in fact, paying for the wedding in full is adding incredible value to your relationship.

rez123 : Thank you for sharing your experience. I know he made a difficult decision for me and it’s not easy to start a new life in a new city all of the sudden. These days we talked a lot about it and I think he finally got into the right mindset, so I’m optimistic

I am happy your last update is a positive one. nevertheless, I just want to add that he has worked in his family business for 10 years. It is very possible that he never really had to apply for a job. Also, going from self employed to being employed can be difficult. So he either is not motivated or doesn’t know how to find a job. Either way, his savings accont better be reeeeally full because not only is he paying for the wedding and living off of his savings for 10+ months, he should also have a good amount put away for the business you guys want to start together.
