Ahhhh I made the mistake of buying Fiance a PS3 for Christmas. He’s obsessed. Although I will admit I love to play the Sonic Racing Game and Wheel of Fortune, haha.

But now I drift off to sleep with sounds of gunshots thanks to Red Dead Redemption. Anyone’s Fiance have that game? It makes me want to shoot myself in the face.

Thank goodness my husband isn’t into video games! We have a Wii, but we don’t play often and when we do, it’s something to do together or with friends.

The only who yell “CHEAT” is me, especially when my FH rams me off the road while we are racing!

Won’t lie, Mister and I met on WoW, so obviously I love playing video games. If he is playing Madden (which I dont get) and I want to play something or spend time with him we put in Dynasty Warriors or Soul Caliber so we can play together. I cannot cannot wait until my computer is fixed and we can play WoW together or when something new comes out.

But if I hear one more thing about Star Wars: The Old Republic I am going to kick him in the face. Sure, show me the videos once, sure I’ll play a trooper or some healer, BUT I DON’T NEED TO SEE THEM EVERY DAY.

@Bostonsmom: haha Fiance plays Rift too.. he has a few 4 hour blocks during the week for some kind long quest or something.  And theres no talking to him during whatever boss encounter they are doing.  Wonder if your Fiance has run into mine in game.. =)

It was so fustrating when he would spend every. free. second. on the comptuer.  Its better now that he’s restricted his play time to his few hour blocks or when I’m sleeping in.

I’m actually more of a gamer than my Fiance and I use our PS3 more than he does. Thankfully neither one of us is obsessive with it like some of the people we know, and we both keep online play to a minimum (no screaming into headsets). As with all things, moderation is the key!

I think the same thing sometimes! (Yeah I know this thread is a year old, but still relevant). Today I was in his room, waiting for him, texted him what I was wearing (just underwear). He was too busy playing PS3 to check his phone, before I texted him I went out there. Then he finally checked about 40 mins later. He should marry it LOL.

ETA: I told him this morning that I need to sort out custody of him with his PS3 😛

@Natalieh86:  Yeah Fiance was off it for an hour approximately, now back on it. And we don’t live together so he doesn’t see me every night.

Awww just look at the bright side.

A gamer doesn’t go out until all hours of the  night clubbing and partying (usually.)

A gamer doesn’t leave at 4:30 AM to wander off into the wilds with a gun and no cell phone reception (hunting/fishing/outdoorsman)

A gamer doesn’t see any real danger from his hobby (I’m looking at you, outdoorsmen and vehicle enthusiasts)

A gamer doesn’t spend a bajillion dollars on his hobby – well, mine doesn’t, anyway. (He pirates and gets a lot of used games. I’m thinking of MOST hobbies… golfers/sporting guys, car guys)

When a gamer is having his fun, you know where he is, what he’s doing, who he’s with, and he’s right there in the living room with you! If anything happened and you really needed him, he’d be right there, I’m sure of it.

In my case, I also get to join him occasionally. (I don’t play much but he’s always so excited when I do, even though I suck, it’s adorable.)

I do agree about the going to bed alone thing sometmes, but Fiance and I have agreed I get 1-2 nights a week where I am 100% in control of our bedtime and he must stop playing and join me when I ask.
