Ok, so tomorrow I’m going to David’s Bridal to look at dresses for the first time. I’m just a bit nervous about being put on display cuz I’m really not used to it. My Mom, 2 sisters, 1 of my nieces, and best friend will be there with me.
I saw a few tea length style dresses online that I really like, but it’s hard to tell if I will like them when I try them on. If I don’t find anything that I like well enough to buy tomorrow, will they pressure me to buy something I don’t like? I want to be sure that I’m going to have the right dress for me and I don’t want to just pick the first one I try on.
Any tips you have for me? and have you had good experiences with David’s Bridal?

OOOH That’s so exciting!
Davids bridal seems to be hit and miss depending on your location. I went there once, and it was alright, but ended up finding a dress elsewhere. My consultant didn’t pressure me, but I know some doe.

@2bMrsG: Wear a strapless bra, try on everything even if you don’t think you’ll like it- you never know what you might end up liking! TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES! A dress can translate very differently in the mirror and in a picture….Give yourself lots of options. Don’t take too many people.
I had an “eh” experience at DB, it was more about their poor customer service and then after we did all the work then swooping back in at the last minute and pressuring me at the end of the appointment to buy it. But that could be a location thing, who knows.
Most important, HAVE FUN!

Just have fun. I did not buy a gown there but I did go there first to look around a little even though I kind of knew I would not be buying a gown from them.
tried on like 8 dresses there. They are really nice….at least that was my experience!I wanted a designer gown, that was the only reason I did not purchase from them. The service was very good so that was def not my resoning to go elsewhere.
Just have a good time!

Thanks so much guys! I really hope they don’t pressure me to buy something cuz I’m pretty picky with my clothes so I have a feeling finding the right dress won’t be that easy for me.
I noticed that they seem to have a lot of beaded dresses and I just prefer the simpler ones with not as much on them in a silky or satin material so I don’t want what is really popular.

The appointment went very well! I got my dress and I love it!! I will create another thread and post pictures of myself in it there!

ooooh, how fun! Don’t let anyone (salespeople, family and friends) pressure you into buying your dress. I recommend thinking of all your contender dresses over for a night or two before you decide on THE ONE. Have a good time!

Nobody pressured me at all. I went in with a good idea of the dress I was looking for and I found the perfect one for me which just happened to be the 2nd one I tried on. I figured that it would be pointless to waste time trying on other dresses since I’m so in love with this dress.

DB didn’t pressure me but I wasn’t impressed with my experience. I hated all the dresses I tried on. I especially hated how my sales lady kept putting things on my head without my permission! It was SOOOOO obnoxious! She’d put hideous tiaras on me, ugly veils, etc etc. You’re lucky you had such a great experience! I think it totally depends on who you get as a salesperson.
@2bMrsG: Can’t wait to see pics!
