I just had to come show you guys this…I’m so excited with how it turned out!
So I knew I wanted to wear something on my head for the reception, because I knew I wasn’t going to wear my veil the whole time. I was leaning towards a hair flower but couldn’t find any that I really liked within my price range.
Then one day I was looking through a box of stuff in the closet and found my mom’s shoe clips from her wedding. My mom passed away when I was an infant so I have a lot of her stuff, especially jewelry and accessories like this. I thought — perfect! Sentimental and practical all in one.
So I bought a plain hairclip and pushed the shoe clips onto it. I was thinking I’d need to hot glue them to get them to stay, but they actually fit perfectly onto the hair clip — the teeth on the shoe clips sort of snapped into a little groove on the underside of the hair clip, and they fit perfectly widthwise too, so everything is nice and snug. I also thought I’d have to wrap the base in ivory ribbon to cover all the “hardware”, but the flowers and my hair actually cover everything. Hooray!
I am super duper excited about this!! It’s my first DIY for the wedding and I think I might be addicted!
Here are the pics, since I know that’s what everyone comes for 🙂
