@Corilee13: I think you have to wait up to 7 days before you can leave negative feedback. I just had someone do this to me too!

I would go through their resolution system and get your money back!

Go through PayPal or Ebay resolution, it takes a little while but you can easily prove your product is not as described. Sorry that happened to you.

File an item received not as described and you should be able to leave neg feedback and receive sooner.

@Mrs.Mittens: agreed.  you can open a complaint with eBay and, eventually, they’ll either give you a refund or an exchange.  I’d go that route. ๐Ÿ™‚

sorry you got ripped off. ๐Ÿ™  hopefully eBay can help you get your money back!!!!

I don’t think it’d hurt to try filing a claim with eBay and/or PayPal.

It doesn’t matter what the seller’s personal policy is (trust me, I sell on Ebay a lot).  If the item is “not as described,” then you can file a claim with Ebay and upon proof of return to the seller (delivery confirmation), you will get your initial amount and original shipping costs returned to you.   You will be out the return shipping amount.

Paypal is much better with following through on filed claims than eBay, but you should report it to both.

Also, just another tip (I buy and sell on eBay all the time): Call eBay for assistance, don’t use their online support. I think they have outsourced their online support to other non-native English speaking countries because the responses I have gotten have all looked like they have been run through a bad translator and literally make no sense.

Good luck! I’m sorry you had such a sucky experience.

@brideatbeach:  It used to be that you could file a claim with both – that is no longer true.  Ebay prefers you open the dispute with them.  If you try to open it with Paypal, they will refer you back to Ebay first.  I’ve also known of buyers (I spend a lot of time on the Ebay forums) who try to open a dispute with both and the system will automatically close both.  ONLY FILE A DISPUTE WITH ONE.

Ebay is a buyer’s dream – the buyer is always right.  As long as you file a claim as “not as described” and have proof of return (delivery confirmation), you will get your original purchase price and original shipping returned.

@Corilee13:

i would not go the ebay route,  i would go directly to paypal and file a ”significantly not as described” claim. paypal is usally quicker to resolve than ebay In My Humble Opinion.

go to paypal and file a claim,  and dont wait…….go straight to ”escalate to claim”…..because you already contacted the buyer and its obvious he isnt willing to refund…….but he cant go against the rules of paypal.  he cannot state no refunds if he is sending out the wrong stuff.  the piss-ant!

@Corilee13: file a case with ebay.  you won’t know until you try.

@Corilee13: Yeah unfortunately there are sellers out there who hope you’ll just “chalk it up as a loss” or who will tell you “you’re taking a risk by buying online.” I actually had a seller tell me that one time when he sent me the wrong DVD- literally a totally different movie than I had paid him fifteen bucks for!

You are totally right that you deserve a refund, though. He should have been up-front in his descriptions and given you a refund when you brought the discrepancies between the listing and the item to his attention.
