- Wedding: March 2012
So, we’re having a Destination Wedding. Everything is pretty much ready to go. Our reception is being held in a hotel, and the hotel reserved 10 rooms for us/guests to book at a reduced rate. Well, no one knew anything about the hotel block until today, and that’s when it all fell apart.
My Future Mother-In-Law texts me and says only 2 rooms are left. What the heck?! So I freaked out. No one in my family has booked anything, much less knew anything about it, so I was floored. I called my Future Mother-In-Law to ask about it, and then she says she didn’t know anything about the block. She was just trying to reserve some rooms. So when she finds out about the block, she calls the hotel back and reserves 2 rooms. Then she acts like she thought we already had our rooms. Ummmm….no! I had just told her we hadn’t booked anything yet.
So then I freaked out and called my mom, and it all went downhill from there. I guess I just freaked out because I was worried she would tell her whole family about the room block and then me (the BRIDE) wouldn’t even get a room discounted nor would my parents.
My Future Mother-In-Law then emails me and said she was worried about her daughter (who is a BM) and her son (the GROOM) not having rooms… Ummmmm…. hello? What about the bride not having a room? Argh!
Everything is fine now, but geez! We’ve been engaged almost a year, and I just had my first “moment,” so I think I’ve done pretty well! 🙂
Anything like this happen to anyone else? My Future Mother-In-Law has acted very disinterested in everything until today. Argh. Whatever. OH, and the funniest thing: She said she didn’t know if her son (groom) would want to stay in their room the night before the wedding or if he’d have his own room. Really???!!!
