Welcome! And yes, you better start working on the planning! Time really goes by when you’re planning!

Yes! I totally feel you. I got engaged November 2011, so I didn’t do any wedding planning until last month, and now I’m freaking out! Do you already have your venue? That’s probably the most important thing, and then your dress. Then you might want to start thinking about sending your Save the Dates, especially since it’s a destination wedding! Can’t wait to see your dress options.

@windmill:  Aw, I love that photo! So glad you have your venue and Save-The-Date Cards out, I was going to start getting worried for you =) Those were the two things I did right away, as well, and I asked my ladies to be bridesmaids. Looks like we’re both planning long-distance weddings (from CA!) in our hometowns, which has its own challenges. Since January 1, I:

  • Bought a dress
  • Found a seamstress for alterations, have had 2 appointments
  • Asked the seamstress to make the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, bought fabric for all the dresses
  • Bought all the groomsmen shirts (they’re different colors of the rainbow)
  • Bought necklace, earrings, tiara, parasol
  • Found and booked a photographer
  • Found and booked a harpist
  • Picked out all of my flowers
  • Ordered all of the vases and fillers for centerpieces
  • Got fiance’s ring size (but he needs to pick a ring!)
  • Started designing my DIY invites (my education was in graphic design)
  • Picked out the menu from the caterer
  • Have posted about 180 times on WeddingBee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m actually kind of glad I started so late. All of this planning has started to cause a bit of anxiety, and I don’t want to let that feeling last any longer than it has to!
