I don’t think that it looks bad at all.  Getting crust to look pretty is over rated, it is all about the taste.  You cover the top with ice cream or whipped cream anyway.  Looks yummy.

Not to worry- Practice makes perfect!

It will likely taste delicious and that’s what counts (besides the fact that it was made with your loving hands).

Did you follow directions to make the lattice, or just put strips on?  I am sure it will taste great, and everyone oohs and aahs over lattice crusts anyway, but there is a really easy way to weave it.  I follow the way Joy of Cooking explains it and it always works really well!

Have fun making pies!  I love it.

It looks great, especially for a first attempt, and I’m sure it will taste wonderful (all that matters)! Two things I’ve learned over the years in regards to apple pies: fill it with more apples than you think because they will cook down and a crumb top is so much easier than trying to make a top crust look pretty. 🙂

It looks fine. I’m more worried about the amount of apples. My apples are always piled high and cook down to crust level. I’m wondering if this will be an indented pie. At any rate, it’s gonna taste good, I think. Lol. Remeber to brish the pie with an egg wash (an egg white) so the crust browns nicely.

It looks great.  Next time if you want it to look prettier, don’t use a fork around the outside edge–use your fingers to pinch it instead.

I personally think it look’s great…I always do the lazy thing and cover the whole pie with another pie shell….good for your for not taking the easy way out like I do!

It looks great for a first time! It looks to me like maybe you just needed to roll out the piece that you made into the lattice to be a bigger piece. (assuming that’s the method you used to make it, if that makes sense?)

Yum! Yep, taste is more important!

Actually though, it really doesn’t look bad at all. I think it looks nice! Especially for your first attempt!
