@leecy87:  I don’t blame you, I would be nervous if my husband had that job, and it has nothing to do with any medical conditions. Maybe just try to trust that he knows what he’s doing and will take care of himself. And really, you don’t often hear about incidents with armored truck drivers. It might not be as dangerous as it sounds, or as one might think based on movies & tv.

I assume he works for a security company in an armoured truck ? If so I wouldn’t be so uncomfortable with it. I am in security field myself ( work in head office ). dangerous accidents like that barely ever happen.

@leecy87:  Ugh I know what you mean. My man is driving now for work, on bad roads, late at night, alone. I feel so scared for him, and I hate that there’s nothing I can do to protect him 🙁

I’m sorry you’re so freaked out =(

If it makes you feel any better, I have literally never seen or heard or armored truck drivers having problems other than in the movies. People know they’re armed and are not to be messed with! I work at a retail store and an armored truck comes and picks up money from us every day – they’re always in and out very quickly. I have actually been involved in a holdup before we opened where we were robbed at gunpoint (which was terrifying, thankfully we were all okay), and the robbers actually waited in their vehicle in the parking lot for the armored truck guy to leave before they attacked because they didn’t want to go up against someone they knew had a weapon.

@leecy87 – My husband doesn’t do the same thing, but what he does do is dangerous.  He works in research and development, so there’s a risk of fire, explosion, toxic fumes, etc.  I was really anxious for a long time.  I still tell him to “please be careful” a lot, but what helps my anxiety ove it is telling myself that he is trained to do his job and they have a great safety team.

Try not to let the vest and gun scare you.  Tell yourself they are just another line of protection for your hubby.  I would imagine that as the diver, he probably wouldn’t even get out of the truck.  Just keep telling yourself that they will train him properly to do his job and stay safe.  It seems silly to say over and over again, but after a while it may start to make you feel better.
