I’ve always said I wanted to wear flat sandals on my wedding day, only because I’m 5’8″ and self-conscious about being taller than my fiance (who is about 5’8″ 1/2 or maybe 5’9″).
To me, shoes have never been important because even if I wore heels, I would kick them off for the reception anyway.
That being said, I ordered these flat sandals to go under my gown. But my mom (who hasn’t seen them in person yet) thinks they may not be dressy enough.
Does it really matter? I feel like you won’t really see the shoes much, except maybe when they poke out slightly as I walk down the aisle.
Now I have my fitting tonight, and am supposed to be bringing my shoes so that they can do the hem. My mom’s comment is totally worrying me. I thought they were cute, but now I’m second guessing myself.
Thoughts? Do you really see the shoes that much?

I think it’s fine. I’m actually toying with wearing Uggs under mine, ha. Shoes aren’t that big of a deal to me and I can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars on shoes I won’t wear all the time because it doesn’t fit my day-to-day style. Right now I have some shiny ballet flats, but thinking about the other for comfort and warmth.

I wore blue sandals with a bow on my wedding day which was at the beach and now I am second guessing myself as to if I should wear them to the reception which is in FOUR days. I cannot wear heels, looked at 6 different stores last night and all the pretty shoes are uncomfortable and I will def break my back if I try and dance in them. You have helped me come to the decision that I will re-wear these sandals and be fine with it. NO ONE is really gonna care. Be comfy I say, and By The Way I love those shoes/sandals.

I think they are lovely. Except for posed pictures, bridal shoes are hardly seen, so wear what you like.

Aww thanks ladies. That makes me feel MUCH better.
At the end of the day, I would rather be comfortable and NOT be self-conscious about being taller than my FH.
THANK YOU!!

I think those are really romantic and pretty! Can we see your dress? I also wore flat sandals. Darling Husband is about 3 inches taller than me and I like pics better that show off the height difference. I didn’t even consider my hair though, I had an updo, it was a little high so we did look pretty close in height even with my flats, lol. We had an outdoor wedding so flats were super comfy, they were really blingy and cute too.

I think they are pretty too! And I’m totally wearing flats – my fiance is taller, but I want to be comfy, and not worry about getting stuck in the grass lol

I’m wearing the Cleo by Maggie Sottero – although I hate the picture of it on the model (it fits more of a trumpet/fit and flare in person):

Don’t worry, those sandals are very pretty. You don’t really see the shoes if the dress is hemmed correctly, other than posed pictures. Mine will poke out as I walk, but that was planned. 🙂
