@WhatMaeBee thank you for sharing! I apprefiate your input and honesty. I’m not too worried about it, but my boyfriend doesn’t want people to think he didn’t get me a diamond haha. At any rate, I’m working on convincing him we just be open about it at least if asked 🙂
@sunnierdaysahead2 that does stink :/ I’ve heard of that happening too. I don’t think we went too big with stone size, we were originally going for a 1.5 Ctw when we bought a diamond ring that didn’t work out, and this one will be 1.75 in the setting. Who knows lol. Are you happy with your Moissy?
@GirlyGirl24 thank you! I originally wanted an H&A forever one but Moissaniteco wasn’t selling them anymore and said the cut didn’t work for the stone as well. I’m honestly not too picky though and definitely am not disappointed with the F1! I think you’re right about most people not knowing and in my group of friends no one really knows a thing about diamonds! I appreciate your kind words!
@RayKay great points! Thank you for your kind words and helpful information. Most of my friends and people I know, know very little about diamonds and I really can’t tell the difference either. I spent a lot of time researching diamonds at first and even if there are noticeable differences Moissanite is just gorgeous to me and the F1 looks sparkly and white IMO lol.
@mrsfriendy Moissaniteco is setting it for me! I ordered loose first because I wanted to be certain I love the stone. I wear a size 9 ring so I wanted to be extra sure since they don’t allow returns on rings over size 8. My cursed big hands 😛
@honeybee1223 I like my moissy as a pendant but I don’t think I would want one as an engagement ring because I prefer the steely gray and deeper flashes of color that diamonds give. I’m sorry if that sounds superficial. That being said, I don’t think mine is a Forever One, just a regular moissy. I’ve never seen an Amora Gem in person but from what others have said on this board, it sounds like I would like it better than moissanite.
I also have a pair of moissy earrings but they’re only like 1/3 ct each and I prefer those over real diamond studs because I’m a clutz and lose everything.
@sunnierdaysahead2 understandable! Diamonds are definitely gorgeous. I debated between a diamond and Moissanite for a while, but I really love the way the forever one looks and at the fraction of the cost, I’m very happy to have it as an engagement ring. Swapping out the center stone for a diamond eventually might be something I want to do, but for now I love the look of Moissanite and I’m so clumsy and rough with my hands I’d be freaking out having thousands of dollars on my finger 😀
@honeybee1223 It’s beautiful! Everyone on these boards is sooooo jewelry savvy that maybe they can tell with a super zoomed in photo, but the general public absolutely won’t be able to. It’s a beautiful stone no matter what it is, and you should be so excited! Congrats!
@honeybee1223 It’s a beautiful stone, but you asked for honest opinions about whether people could tell its Moissy and I definitely can. I like Moissy for what it is, the origins and beauty of it in it’s own right. I don’t have a trained eye, but the extra faceting is what “gives it away”.
If you love Moissy, I don’t think you should worry about what other people, including family, think about it. It’s your choice and you don’t have to justify it to anyone.
@lawandbeauty53 thank you! I really do appreciate the honesty and your politeness. I think you’re right about not worrying what other people think. I honestly don’t mind if people can tell and I’d like to let people know about Moissanite. I like being honest and open anyways! I just need to convince my boyfriend it’s okay if people know we don’t have a diamond 🙂
