I am 16 weeks pregnant and the maid of honor for a wedding. I got my bm dress today for a wedding that is in 6 weeks (ill be 22 weeks at that point) and it doesnt even zip a little. I ordered this dress B.C. (before conception) but i really didnt think it would be this small bc I thought It would be huge on me. Well its not and I have no idea how this is going to work!!!! Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Is there any possibility of returning it and ordering a different size? If not, I would head to someone who does alterations and see what kind of magic they can work!
If both of these leave you stranded, I would talk to the bride and see what she thinks. Is everyone wearing the same dress? Maybe you could find a dress that is the same color/material (that you could just buy without having to order). Since you are the maid of honor it might be okay if your dress is different.
Sorry you are having to deal with this, no fun. But congrats on the baby 🙂

I would definitely definitely hunt around for an amazing seamstress — they *might* be able to add panels to the back & convert the zipper to a corset back (that you would obv lace comfortably– this way no matter what size you are the dress *should* be wearable).
If that is not an option I would just be frank with your bride friend and explain what happened in an “I’m freaking pregnant and my body is doing weird things, I swear I am not trying to ruin your wedding” kind of way. Hopefully you two are close enough that you’ll be able to come up with a solution that makes everyone happy.

The maid of honor should stand out anyway. I like th eidea of adding a corset and panel. Then it will fit you regardless.

It fits!! The store wouldnt take it back so I was left w one only option of altering it. $200 later in alterations…. and this thing zips up!! I am so relieved. Even tho I have invested a lot into this dress I am so happy it fits. I would have dreams that i had to wear a tank top under it with the zipper undone to the wedding!!
