cut this nut out of your life, everyone already made the obvious point – she WAS in your situation and ABANDONED that cat.

I read this thread yesterday but didn’t comment. I had a dream last night that my dad was holding one of my cats hostage, LOL!!! I’m very happy that you got your kitty back (and that my cat is safe and sound at home too, lol). Drive safe and have lots of snuggles when you get home!

I just read this thread this morning, but I’m so happy you got your kitty back!  Can’t wait to read what kind of crazy reasoning this person had for not wanting you to take your cat when you wanted to.

I have been reading this thread since yesterday and I have to say how entirely strange this situation was.  Who the fuck does this woman think she is, the animal police?  If I were you I wouldn’t be speaking to this person again.

First off, I’m VERY glad you got your kitty back! What a strange situation… at least you didn’t have to involve the police. I’m also curious as to the reasons why she held your cat hostage… its so bizzare!

So I could see if your cat was really sick & you weren’t checking in knowing that. Otherwise, I think checking in every few weeks is fine. If I was pet-sitting & the owner called me like every day to check on their pet, I’d get annoyed UNLESS it was like my last situation where the dog was sick/had pups, then I’d want them to call me every day, maybe even 2 or 3 times a day until things got better.

So I read through this whole thread and can honestly say this is by far the most entertaining (if not vicariously stressful) one I have come across on the ‘Bee. That lady definitely was humanizing the cat and projecting her abandonment behaviors on your situation. Thank goodness you got your kitty back! Congratulations! Safe travels 😀

I’ve been following this thread without commenting. I’m so glad you got your cat back. Totally agree with PP’s that she really lost her right to be self-righteous when she abandonned her cat five years ago!
