Sweet.Sugar.Rose :  It’s an aquamarine stone (which happens to be my birthstone), I love how different it can look in different lighting, I m not a big diamond person so wanted something a bit different ๐Ÿ™‚ I love a good deal too, all in all both of our wedding rings and engagement rings come to less than £400 ๐Ÿ™‚

futuremrsbennett95 :  I love aquamarine! For my ten year anniversary I ditched all of my diamonds and went for my topaz ring! I just absolutely love color and how there are SO many colors and gems to choose from that I could never go back to clear! Amazing deal! My setting is a temp sterling silver setting. I am looking to have it recreated in gold or find a setting I already love that can hold my stone. I am definitely keeping it under $500 (for both ering setting and wedding band). But I would prefer to keep it in the $300 range for both of mine if I can. The cheaper the better pretty much! lol

What do your bands look like?

Sweet.Sugar.Rose :  I’m a fan of topaz too, anything blue gemstone wise is just lovely ๐Ÿ™‚ Gemstones are certainly different hence prefering them massively over diamonds, much better value for money too in my mind.Cheaper is always better for most thing in my mind, it’s the attitude i’ve been taking to our wedding, would rather spend the money on the house we’re saving for:P

Our bands are plain yellow gold D shaped 3 and 4mm bands, we wanted to go for simple but will last for years and i prefered having my e-ring on a different hand, we both have tiny fingers so 2 rings on the one hand doesnt look right (and i couldnt find something for a good price to fit my e ring with its shape).

futuremrsbennett95 :  I totally agree! I love all blue gemstones! And many other colors, too. Yes, with gems you can get so much more bang for your buck so I always suggest colored gems to couples who would rather save the money for something else! I absolutely love plain bands and I am looking for one to pair with my ring. I have been looking at some of the hammered looking ones on Etsy. I have found some under $100! I’m also super into the wooden bands. My band’s bezel doesn’t allow for a ring to sit flush so depending on how comfortable it is I may wear the band on my left hand and my topaz ring on my right. Which will you wear you band on?

Okay, end thread jack! I just had to know more about your ring. ๐Ÿ™‚

weeebeee :  great thing about the Internet, people will tell you what they are really thinking, well done for waking up !! Instead of asking your parents in future, ask yourself what would my grandma think,  would she want her ring to be worn out of loyalty, hell no, you should only ever wear something for love.

You made yourself look like a good a catch, as crabs.

Ps gold digger ……. thousand bucks, you can probably here me giggling over here, in England ….. Gold digger heheheheheeeeee

My boyfriend doesn’t like the ring I want either. I want a round solitaire with a plain band. He thinks it’s boring and prefers something with more bling. But he knows it’s what I have my heart set on and just wants to me to be happy. It’s going to be on MY finger and he wants me to have something I’ll be proud to wear every day. He told me to go ahead and design the ring I WANT and we’ll compromise by pairing it with an extremely flashy, bling covered wedding band. Your girlfriend deserves her OWN ring. Let her choose something she adores in her own style. It’s really not too much ask. This is your future wife we’re talking about.

Let her choose her own ring. After all is it HER ring. Some future husbands seem to have a problem with that idea. You are giving a future wife a ring to show her you love her and want her to be happy. As I am sure you do. No woman should be forced to wear an heirloom ring or any other object they do not wish to wear. Keep your heirloom for maybe a future daughter’s 18th birthday or grad or something and, by the way, do ask her if she wants it or not.

Oh dear, time to sit in the corner with the hat of shame on my head…. Tons of people post on old threads all the time.  My point is still valid is it not?
