Today is my bachelorette and my FI’s bachelor parties. I am having some people into town to stay at our house and we’re going out locally. Fiance and his friends are going to Detroit to do the auto show and casinos and stay overnight in a hotel.
As Fiance was packing this morning he says he is going to go pack his wii and Goldeneye to take. I asked him if he thought they’d really have time to play video games in the hotel. He said why not? It’s his bachelor party. I said said “Okay… if you would rather go back to your hotel and play wii after the casino rather then go look at naked women in a strip club, I am not going to argue with you!” and he replies “yea actually… I would much rather play wii than look at naked women in a strip club.” lol.
I still think they’ll probably end up going to one because he has never been before which his best man thinks is a CRIME. But I think its super funny/cute that he’d rather play wii. Anyone else’s guys hope for a tamer Bachelor party (even if they ultimately didn’t get it)?
P.S. Please don’t start bashing strip clubs! So not the point at all.

hahaha thats so cute & funny; i wonder if he’ll actually get a chance to play?

Fiance had his bach party at Dave + Busters. He told his g-men that he wanted to go to a place where he could drink a lot of beer and play even more videogames! They had a great time, though somewhat tame – in terms of other strip club infused parties.
Not ever guy wants to go to a strip club for their bach party!

I think that if my fiance had a bachelor party (he can, I just don’t know if he is because we’re having such a small wedding), that they’d end up at a bar for an hour or two then order some wings in and play Call of Duty all night. And I think his friends that he’d want at his bachelor party would be more than happy to have this be the way it happens. Since we’re having a semi-destination wedding I’m kind of thinking that one of the two days before the wedding that we’ll be there, when I’m working on wedding stuff or with the girls, he’ll be with the guys doing this and drinking so it’ll probably happen anyway.

@Koala Bear: I kind of doubt it. The plan is to do the auto show all day then hit the casinos at night. I think it will come down to a strip club v. goldeneye post-casino decision. Fiance is genuine about not really wanting to go because he has never been before and they kind of skeeve him out, but his best man really wants to take him there because its traditional or whatever and my Fiance is very “go with the flow.” I’d say the only way I see them doing wii over the strip club is if they all bust out at the casino and don’t want to spend the money on a strip club. 🙂

Have a great time at your party! And more power to your Fiance if that’s his preference 🙂

That is too funny. J would do the same as your Fiance. I brought up the strip club thing with him yesterday after reading a post. He told me that he has no desire to go to strip clubs. He’s told me before that he and his buddies would go when they traveled for work and he couldn’t get into them. That’s a relief, but I still think that his Bridesmaid or Best Man will most likely drag him to one.

That’s hilarious! My husband would love to attend an auto show for his bachelor party. We went to the Philadelphia Auto Show in 2008 and I can still remember my husband (back then he was my boyfriend) drooling over all the cars. There was one car in particular ( think it was the new Camaro?) that was bright orange and all fancy and he spent like 15 minutes with that car, circling around it and practically salivating over it with a bunch of other strangers. I remember him walking over to me and saying, “Can you believe it???!!! Isn’t it awsome?!!” and I just laughed. Your post takes me back to that moment. He was like a little boy on Christmas morning. If your fiance is anything like mine, he’s going to have a blast. lol

My Fiance just wants to get drunk and hang out with his friends. Other than that, he really doesn’t care, lol. I’m pretty sure he would bring his board games if he thought he could get away with it :).

Absolutely! Fiance is kind of somewhat dreading his bachelor party because he’s really not a fan of strippers. If it were up to him (which it SHOULD be but its apparently not), they would go to a comedy show or something and then hit up a few bars. Instead, I’m sure his brother (BM) is planning to incorporate strippers somehow.
I find it very frustrating that his brother doesn’t seem to care what Fiance wants, but thats a post for a different day.

My Fiance doesn’t drink, or play video games. Golf is most likely in the cards for his bachelor party. Because that is all he does with his friends, ever.
They did go to a really nice strip club for his besties party, so maybe they will go again for his. I don’t mind though, I think I have actually been to the strip club more times than he has. But thats another story all together (Norwegian Exchange Students.)

LOVE IT! My Fiance is the same way. They’re going to go to Dave & Buster’s to play games and stuff instead of anything stripper-related. 🙂

Aww that’s really cute!! Fiance feels the same way about playing video games..I’m figuring he will probably do some kind of gaming and prob some golf for his too.

Fiance would murder his Groomsmen if they tried to get him to a strip club. I don’t know what the plan is but I am perfectly happy with there not being any naked/half naked women around for it.

Update: No strip club! No wii either though haha. I guess doing the auto show and casino was more than enough for them 🙂
