Ok, so saturday i had my hair and make up trial. I went in saying i want half down, half up but wanted it to not look formed, just a little sexy. SO this is what happened.
Before Shots. Lord help me with no makeup.
Here is the make up after
And here is the hair, now the veil will go under the top bun part
And here it is all together
Im thinking it look like a normal night out on the town instead of a wedding up do. Any suggestions?

I think your hair looks beautiful, but I am not a fan of the makeup. I think that the eyes need some more definition (eyeshadow is so light you almost can’t tell you’re wearing any), the eyeliner is too thick and I think you need a tad more color in the cheeks. And… maybe define the brows a bit more, they are kind of pale and get lost a little. Your eyebrow should be the frame of your eye.
Sorry…. that may have come off a bit harsh, but those are my suggestions.

I agree with zippylef, the shadow to liner ratio is off.

First of all: Lovely.
I do see what you mean about looking more “night on the town” rather than “wedding-y”, but I think this is a matter of wardrobe. Once you stick the veil on, the hair will be ABSOLUTELY stunning. And the dress, obviously, will lend to the wedding look, too :).

Love the hair but I am not a fan of the makeup. I agree with Zippylef, the eyeline is way to thick and doesn’t coordinate well with the eyeshadow.

I agree with the PPs 🙂 Hair is beautiful… elegant and simple, without looking casual. The make up looks a bit harsh though, and you’re beautiful enough without make up that they could go a little softer and it would look stunning.

@zippylef: Pshhh not harsh at all. Exactly what I was thinking and that was the point of the post. Thanks for the honesty.

@ookbob: Thank you for the kind words. I agree that once the veils on it will change alot but just dont feel it was structured enough and didnt know if it was just me being picky. Thanks so much

@erinleigh1: Thank you. I will take your suggestions to the person that did it. I was thinking the same but was unsure. Thank you so very much for taking the time to help me.

i like the hair and the makeup. Light shadow with a bold liner is retro, maybe try a bolder lipstick color.

Hi! As a makeup artist, I look at the makeup and think it’s just ‘unfinished’. The eyeliner should be smudged a bit so you can’t tell how thick it is (if you actually want it that thick in the first place) and you need something reflective for the inner corner of your eye to make it -pop-. I usually don’t do heavy liner all the way across on the bottom for fear of it looking like it will drag the eye downward, you might want to consider just the outer 1/2 with liner or shadow as liner?
