Well it was mentioned that this thread might be a neccesity so why not! I’m not REALLY working anyway – its friday! (insert rebecca black here)
Anyway, I finally got my rings soldered! It was a hassle due to my pickiness but it finally worked. Lets start at the beginning.
I have a basket halo that goes all around my ring. When I first decided on a band, I wanted a half eternity but I knew that it wouldn’t sit flush because of how the halo was. I wasn’t planning on getting it soldered but after 7 months, my rings had started to get scratched. Since I got my band at Kay’s, they offered to solder my engagement ring to my band for free and my warranty would still be in tact. I spoke directly to the company about what I wanted and how I wanted it to sit flush directly. They assured me they would give me exactly what I wanted.
Three GRUELING weeks later, I got my babies back! And Kay’s did AMAZING! They cut a piece of my basket halo off but secured it so that my center stone and side diamonds all stay intact and made my bands sit flush! I love my rings so much mroe and get so many more compliments.
And I have before and after pics.
What I wanted:
And what I got!

Oh my goodness! It’s beautiful and it looks great!!! I’m so glad I saw this thread because my halo ring also has a basket like yours and I was worried about finding a way for it to sit flush! Do you mind if take your pictures to the jeweler so I can show them how I want mine??

I so needed to see this thread!!! I have a halo that is made just like yours except its round. I have been so nervous about finding a band that I will be ok with. When I was looking at rings one of the main things I wanted was a ring that I knew I could find a band for that would sit flush against the ering. I ended up falling for the ring I have and went with it anyway even though I knew I would end up with a gap between my band and my ering. I even looked into getting a band custom made that would fit up against my ering. That was pricier than I had wanted though. So seeing this really makes me feel great! I got my ring from Jared and they told me when I was looking at erings that getting my band and ering soldered together would be covered under my care package if my band came from them. So now that I see the results of yours I am super excited to know I can have what I wanted.

@ejay15: Sure! I love showing my baby off 🙂
@stardustintheeyes: exactly my point! as much as they pay for our rings, we should be able to customize and thats exactly what kays did for me 🙂

I think it looks awesome!!! I have a halo too & also wanted mine to sit flush. Jeweler did something very similar. Just removed the bottom of the basket so the wedding ring slid up & clicks in. It’s not soldered though. Just clicks in like a puzzle piece. I love halos!!!!!

@MrsShayona: is there any way you can PM with how much this cost to do? I’ve been thinking about having this done too
