I have really (I mean REALLY) sweaty hands like all of the time. I get sweaty when I’m nervous, happy, excited…you get the point. Anyway, I’m starting to get anxious about the wedding weekend and having to touch so many hands (most people will grab the other person’s hand as they lean in for a kiss on the cheek, ya know?). I KNOW I’m gonna be anxious/nervous on the wedding day so I’m sure my hands will be freaking disgusting. This may sound silly but it really is a serious problem for me (I don’t shake many hands IRL and have even had to explain that my hands are very sweaty which is embarrassing).
What do I do? Does anyone have any tips for keeping hands dry?
I wish I could like Botox my palms or something. Lol!

No tips on how to dry out my sweaty palms? Bueller?

You CAN botox your palms, but I think you should get a $4 prescription for Drysol instead. I have hyperhydrosis in my armpits (TMI, you’re welcome) and this stuff does the trick. You put it on at night and within a couple days you should notice a big difference. Ask your doctor- you don’t have to live with this.

I agree that you should talk to your doctor and see what they recommend for you. 1-3% of Americans suffer with hyperhydrosis. You’re not the only one!

I have this problem too…especially in other areas (which I will keep to myself as it is tmi!! haha!) but I am also very worried about the sweat on the wedding day. For me, my nightmare is having sweat spots on my dress.
I will be getting botox in the armpit area for sure, and will be using power in other areas.

I have the same exact problem. For me, it’s because of my rapid heart beat. Lucikly, people know about it and I always preface any hand-contact with,”I’m clammy.” For wedding purposes, I’m sure people will understand, with nerves and all. I just find a way to inject humor into the situaton.

LOL! I’m only laughing because I have the same problem and was SO nervous about my palms being disgustingly sweaty at the wedding. (They’re sweating now, thinking about it lol.) Anyway, I was so caught up with everything else during the wedding that my hands didn’t even get sweaty (or at least I don’t remember them being overly gross.) I think people will understand too, you’ll be holding your flowers, touching other ppl’s hands, etc. I know that I don’t notice if someone has clammy hands when I shake them, and they probably don’t think about my clammy hands either. But, for a quick fix, try putting baby powder on your hands, that has worked for me in the past.

I have had this problem my whole life as well. Unfortuantely, I also passed down this terrible gene to my 19 month old boys. Sweaty hands and feet… I used to carry around a powder bag(not sure that’s what they’re called) that are used for playing pool. It is really small and fit in my purse. Whenever I knew I was about to have to shake someones hand or something, I would discretely pull the bag out and pat my hands on it. It worked great, but not a solution for the wedding though.

Oh wow! THANK YOU SO MUCH, BEES! There are some great tips on here. I honestly didn’t know my problem even had a name! I just figured I had bigger sweat glands than most. LOL! And yes, I have the same problem with my feet and ALWAYS have to wear two pairs of socks (I sound like the Waterboy here lol). Anyway, I will definitely look into Drysol and will look into a powder bag.
So embarrassing but I’m glad I’m not the only one.
