Hello Bees! I need your help! As some of you may know, 88Mfiance (hehe…I sound like a real Bee!) is in the Army, so we are getting married this summer, before he deploys. I have an amazing vision, but not so much in ability to make it happen. I also have 2 sets of very power hungry parents who seem to think that the one that pays for the wedding is the one that loves me more. So I’m frazzled and trying to figure out who I can have pay for what, because there is no way we can afford to have a wedding in 6 months. Rawr! But enough venting, that’s not why I came to you ladies.
Lets start over. I am getting married the end of June, and I am so behind! I feel like I have 50 million things that I still have to do. I know what I want, but I’m finding nil in terms of inspiration online. I’m doing a sage green and a butter cream yellow. My dress will be ivory, and I’m wearing a mantilla. The ceremony is outside, at a nature preserve here in Ohio. I’ve found a few things that I like, but I can’t find anything in those colors. I love daises and dahlias, and I’ve also thought about adding some herbs and stuff in too.
I love a homespun look, like a lot of the things that Martha Stewart makes.

I’m not sure if you’ve taken a look at this blog before, but Snippet and Ink actually has inspiration board posts labeled by color. If you scroll through to an inspiration board, look at the "label" on the bottom of the post. You can click on that label, and it will take you to all of the post with that color themes and items. Also have you tried The Knot? They have reception and decor ideas by color as well. I don’t think these sites will give you your exact color combo, but they may be a good starting point.

Its ok to delegate!
Maybe have one set pay for the food and drinks and the other pay for flowers and photography? A good way to get what you want and also let them feel involved is come up with a few options you like and let them choose.
But get to work girl, you’ve only got 6 months!
Oh and for some inspiration…check out this blog, i have it on my google reader (along with WB) and check it constantly

I agree with caribqueen about Snippet and Ink being a great place to go for inspiration. If you have a vision though, creating an image board from Google images in a longer, but for me more fulfilling process. Also, for things like flowers, if you see something you like that is in the wrong color, take it to your florist and she (or he) can help you find something similar in the right color family. They also have a lot of books and can show you images of previous bouquets and centerpieces to help clarify your vision. Have you considered hiring a wedding planner? They can also help with the inspiration process.
As for your payment frustrations, have you considered having your parents contribute the same amount to a special wedding account for you to draw from as needed? Otherwise, I would suggest having stimates of the costs of different elements and allocating as close to equally as you can. As a bride who is paying for her own wedding, I want to remind you that you are fortunate to have two sets of parents who love you and want to help you pay for your special day.
